The announcement was made 2 months ago. That might have a little to do with it. I think that the Funko Pop line is getting more popular and with the release of the new series that has something to do with it.

Haha this.
I have not spent anywhere close to that amount for a funko piece yet. If I do it wont be for a le 480 piece either. People are a little inpatient.

I can't even justify going over $300 for the 1/480 pieces from SDCC 2010

I'm surprised some of the GITD haven't gone as high as the regular versions. You think they would be harder to find... And apparently I will never afford a Shadow Trooper. Bleh

For real! The metallic Batman went from $150-ish late last year to $200 early this year. Then it went to $250..then $300 and next thing you know they've sold for $500...Crazy! At $300 I had to bite the bullet. ](*,)

I'm sure the prices of those Shadow Troopers will only go up from here, until they hit a ceiling price where not a single soul would buy them for that price.

Try horrible. If you're the hoarder, and you outspend everyone to amass your tiny shadow army, then who's going to spend more than you?

For example....

1/12 Batman 990 bucks
1/12 Batman 870 bucks one auction later.

If another went up, I say you're looking at about 700.

So question I have. While looking at the proto section on Gemini (just looking not quite at the point of wanting to spend money on one) I saw the whole black and white series of the beetles. Now I believe I read somewhere the idea was denied by Funko in the end and they have 10 of each. Of course on Gemini they are selling for a butt load just curious if they didn't make the list since they were never considered approved. Thanks

The numbered production set = $1375 / 5 you end up with $275 each. The hand painted protos are $750 / 5 = $150 each.

After digging into this Thread I noticed that the prices back then were pretty high... But by know it might be absurd or impossible to obtain for some of us! :(
