Regular Hikari Boba Fett?

Postby Sir Real » Sat Sep 05, 2015 9:20 am

Here's a pic I saw on Facebook. Is that a regular colors Boba Fett? They say they picked it up at Hot Topic.

Has anyone else seen this out in the wild? It's not even on the HT website. Really been waiting for this one.

It looks like a regular Boba Fett. Seems like all the Star Wars are rolling out with regular solid colors with LE1500 like the Stormtrooper, Vader and Clone Trooper.

If you look on ebay, some of the LE1200 say Glitter Boba Fett on the card and some say Starshine Boba Fett and then the same on the LE1500 but they look to be the same piece...my LE1200 says Starshine on the card...we need an explanation here.

I've seen that mixup on ebay with regular and metallic Bossk as well, 1200 or 1500 on the box. And the standard colors was really the 1500, so I'm pretty sure regular colors Boba Fett will also be an edition of 1500. Hoping to see it in-store this week, or even on the website. But really hoping I can use my stack of Hot Topic Hot Cash for it, and others shortly.

I saw it in person when I went to HT this past Tuesday. Seemed like regular paint to me. I usually only collect pops, but am a huge Boba fan, so actually came to this section to see if anyone had more info on it.

That's great news. I'm headed to my Hot Topic to check things out. If I see it, I'll at least take a good clear pic in the store, then post it here. But I'll probably end up buying it as well, since it's so good and I'm not sure I will be able to wait for the Hot Cash period to start.

Just came from HT, but left my phone in the car, so no pics. I don't really know how to describe it, but there are some silver paint speckled around his torso. So it's going to clean paint job, nor do I think they intended it to be. I'm waiting for the hot cash To start as I have $30 and 15% off HT+1 coupon.

All the distressed marks on the armor are pretty cool.

But wow, it is super confusing. I see the Funko website lists #5927 as "Glitter Boba Fett" LE of 1500 with a stock photo of the card; and the vinyl appears to look glittery with no distress marks.

Then, Gemini Collectibles and Entertainment Earth are both listing #5927 "Glitter Boba Fett" as a LE of 1200 with a stock photo of the card; and the vinyl appears to look glittery with no distress marks.

And then, other websites (there's one in the Netherlands) are listing #5927 as a LE of 1200 with actual photos of the vinyl that look like the same variation posted in the OP's Toyfair photo.

(Edited to add the photos)

I was told a few days ago by an employee of Funko that there is no "Glitter" Boba Fett and that the glams have not yet been released by Funko, although they are in Hot Topic stores as exclusives...will let you know what the card says when i get mine.

The one pictured above this post is a 1200, we are talking about a 1500...you took pics of it out of the box hiphip but didn't look at the name on the card ? This is likely the Starshine LE1200.

In another post just now, i said how awesome Predator was and bought him. HT also had the Boba pictured above. I really wanted to buy him based on glam shots. In person I passed on it. I have a hard time with the coloring. But mostly because where his right eye would be, there was this huge bulge in the vinyl. Very disappointing!

To add to the confusion, this appears to be an official Glam shot, where we can see an image of the card that says GLITTER BOBA FETT.

But I agree, if people have bought the 1500 figure, or even a 1200, please let us know what the name on the card is.

EBay sellers are calling this "glittered starshine" and similar combinations of both terms 'starshine' and 'glitter'. Are there two 1200s or are glitter fett and starshine fett the same figure?

Either way, the 1500 figure is superior. There's just so much overspray on the 1200, that it looks sloppy and unintentional.

Yoko told me a couple days ago that there is NO GLITTER Boba Fett and they have not released the glams for the LE1500 release.

So what do we make of the above image that appears to be an official glam? Is it fake? Is it a real glam that was never released? Just wondering; I don't really care about the 1200 figure(s?), just sort of want to solve the mystery.

I have one coming, will get the name off the card when it arrives...i don't know where the stock photo came from, just know that Yoko said there is no "Glitter" Boba Fett. When i bought my LE1200 that was advertised as "Glitter", the card says "Starshine".

Woohoo, this is the one I have been waiting for! I am with SirReal, the overspray on the Starshine Fett just looks off, gives him a cheap look to me.

Hoping I can snag an Original Boba Fett with Hot Cash come Wednesday, though the rumor of a metallic Boba Fett is intriguing though if it is like Bossk the Original/Metallic differences are too minimal for me to want both...

The lack of an original paint Greedo makes the metallic Boba Fett more desirable to me if it exists. A set of metallic Bossk, Boba, and Greedo would look nice together.

Is this 1500 Boba Fett missing those little yellow parallel lines above his left eye, as seen in the above toyfair pic? I think they're supposed to go all along the left side of his helmet too. Does the figure have those?

Yup, they are there. They are set slightly farther back than shown in the toy fair pic and are a bit more subtle/not so bright yellow but they are there.

"4287 C-3PO"? Really? Does that first number mean something? A movie reference? And he looks just fine not being vacmetal, but I'll rebuy him if he ever is. Likewise with E-3PO.

And thanks for the pic, I can see Fett's yellow helmet lines now. He's so perfect. Little spikes on his fat footed boots and everything. :)

I found Fett at Hot Topic today, but all 4 that I saw had a lot of silver paint brushed all over them. I got the one that looked the least silvery, but it's not like the ones pictured above. It's 1500, so I don't know what's going on. Probably going to return it if/when I find a regular one. So disappointed.

*Edit: Ok, so this gets even weirder. I took a picture of my "all too silvery" Fett, to add to this post to show what I was talking about, but in the picture, my Fett looks completely normal, just like the other pictures above. I can't explain this. In regular light, I see a lot of silver on top of the colors, but in a bright light, such as a camera flash, the greens are all green, the browns are all brown, and he looks perfect.

Could this just be a reflection of the silvery, mirror inner box surface? Must I only look at this Hikari in photos, or with an extremely bright light? I guess the test will be to remove him from the box and see if the silver sheen goes away. But I swear there were different levels of "silveryness" when I looked at all 4 in the store, and if they were all the same silvery reflection from that inneer box lining, I would have expected them to all look the same.

Does anyone else know what I'm talking about here? Or am I just crazy today? :( ;-)
