The Pop! you should have bought when you had the chance...

What are the Pops you missed out on because you waited too long to buy when they were a fair price. I know a lot of you have been collecting for a while, but for myself I only started in January this year. I put off on getting the SDCC Hannibal and headless Hershel, because "I'll get them later". Now they've both risen pretty crazily. What are your stories?

Sorry if there is another topic like this, but my search came up with nothing.

Mad Hatter, Benson, Leonidas, Ace Ventura, Hangover Alan, Bart, Homer. I have pictures from the ECCC I went to when those were all still "common" and I passed over ALL of them and ended up paying anywhere from $50-$80/each for all of them later.

At one point I regretted a lot of the SDCC POPs that were like $50 back then that are $200+ now, but at the time I was never going to spend over $50 for a POP. So I don't regret it too much.

I do regret not being more active on this board previously, I missed out on a lot of cool events.

I was just typing the same exact thing! I had all three in my cart at Gemini for the LOW total price of 29.99 minus shipping. Even spoke to Steve about the set and he said he had tons in stock and wanted to unload them. Unfortunately, I decided against the purchase and a year later I'm buying the set for four times the price ](*,)

Not getting the Simpsons is a huge regret of mine, I wanted them, but kept putting it off until they were retired.

All the Incredibles other than Edna as well, I remember I found Mr Incredible at a comic shop while I was on vacation last year, and I was gonna buy it, but then changed my mind because I was unsure if I would have enough room in my luggage.

I sort of regret not buying Black Batgirl for around 200 when I had the chance, she's my grail and now she's way more.

I'm sure there are other regrets as well, but that's all I can think of at the moment. XD

I'm glad I have only been collecting two months, since I haven't been able to miss out on anything yet. Everything was vaulted by the time I started. I wonder what I will regret a year from now...

Riddler. Also Two-Face and Penguin, but Riddler is the one I regret the most.

Most recently, Dark Phoenix. I kept putting her off for months until it was gone. Now she's going for $50 on eBay.

Unmasked Batman from Target because I would see him so much always thought I would get him later. Back then I didn't know Pops were vaulted or exclusives could be hard to find. Second close is a Black Lantern Reverse Flash. I know they are fairly cheap online, but my girl and me have a "rule" about not ordering Pops online. We have funfinding stuff in the wild.

I never had in issue of waiting on a Pop! but there was a time a few months ago when I was at my local Target and they had a Mint Fading Vision on clearance for $6 and I went to buy it and my bank card didn't work because they had sent out new bank cards with the new chip in it and canceled mine before I got the new card. I was p*** and went back to the Target when I had the new card. And it was gone...

Brown Suit Wolverine - When he was the Zapp exclusive at NYCC 2014, I had just started with Pops, and said to myself "I don't care that it's their exclusive - They have some nerve selling it for $25, when these things cost me $8 in stores, and other exclusives are $10-$15". The I saw how much it was going for on eBay and their own site, and was kicking myself every day until I found it on FPUK. I'm an out of box collector, so no sticker wasn't a problem for me.

Believe it or not there is not a single Pop that I regret not having bought. Probably because I do tend to buy what I like when it becomes available rather than waiting until later. Really I've had kind of the opposite problem, there are a few con exclusives that I paid a slight premium for out of fear that they would shoot up in price, only to see them get a wider release later at retail price. Luckily there haven't been too many examples of that, usually I'm pretty good about waiting a bit to get the best price. But if it's something that I really REALLY want I tend to be impatient :-)

Since I just started collecting last year, there were a few Pops in stores I figured were fairly common so I'd be ok waiting on them for months. There are ALWAYS Pops I need or want, so it's difficult to pick what to get and when, so yeah, I've missed a few that are a bit above what I'd want to spend right now.

Nick Fury, Man of Steel Superman, Man of Steel Superman in the black suit, Phoenix, Skeletor, Metallic Ghost Rider and Genie are the top ones I either saw in store or on Amazon for regular prices....so bummed about them now!

Ah, the one that got away. I was thinking about starting a thread like this. LOL!

Mine would be the 12th Doctor in the Spacesuit. I even missed it again this weekend when it popped up on Popcultcha for like a second. I had it in my cart and it froze up on me. By the time I got back in it was sold out. I'm never getting this one. ](*,)

Flocked chewbacca and shadow trooper.

Had a chance to get a few chewbaccas on ebay for $21-25 but always passed since I had set my limit to $20.

Had a chance at a shadow trooper in a trade for about $50 worth of stuff but I had set a limit of $40 for that.

Dont wait too long and dont set limits is what I learned.

The only one I can think of right now is Nick Fury a few months ago at Walgreens for about $9. I was getting a few other pops and thought maybe I'd grab him later, but he was gone. I'm holding out hope he will randomly show up again haha.

Hangover Alan will always be the one I regret not getting. I remember seeing him not only in toy stores but in media stores as well and thought he was cool but never pulled the trigger.

I found a Flocked Lotso on eBay last week, and someone made an offer that was accepted. He was still really expensive, and it wasn't that I passed up on an affordable POP that's now super expensive. I just passed on an expensive POP that sold for a slightly less expensive price tag. lol

I was in the same boat with the 12th Doctor in Spacesuit. Ended up paying the eBay price. I needed him to complete the collection though so I have no guilt or buyers remorse... yet.

That's the issue isn't it though. Particularly now with Pops being unvaulted like they are. Other than exclusives there isn't a reasonable trend to follow for regular releases.

One of my Targets still have quite a few Unmasked Batman exclusives, and my HT still has Black Lantern Reverse-Flash. I could probably help you out with those.
