Bought my first Hikari today. What was your first?
I've been collecting Pops! for a while but never made the jump to any other lines. The metallic Bossh has been calling my name for a while and I finally got him today. Could be very treacherous for my wallet, but I'm excited to get a few others.
I'm also curious how many people started with Hikari and then branched out to other Funko products and what figure prompted you to buy your first?

My first was the HT Bloody Predator.
It's been pretty easy to stay on track with Hikari so far though.

My first Hikari was the EE Metal Mix Astro Boy. I fell in love when I first laid eyes on it. I'm now 20 deep and no signs of stopping. Love me some Hikari...

I was hooked as soon as I saw the first Hikari Friday announcement in May 2014....Metal Mix Leonardo! The weird thing is, I'm not even a TMNT fan but I thought the pictures of these looked great and then when I received them I couldn't believe how much more amazing they look in person!

Mystic Powers is hands down my favorite color way across the line. Skeleton and Frankenstein in particular look great. The Rainbow Prism (Stormtrooper & Boba Fett) comes close but not quite as cool.

Re: Bought my first Hikari today. What was your first?
Iron Man was my first Hikari, Molecular & Metal Mix to be precise. Totally dug them way more than I expected too. Sold off 97% of my Pop collection (close to 200 pops at the high point, now just about 20 or so, mostly Iron Man) to focus on Hikari instead. Super fun series and much easier to collect from the obtaining standpoint than Pops.

Those look pretty awesome. And you bring up a good point. I'm not a completionist, but there are just so many pops. Sometimes it's overwhelming. Hikari might be the less stressful route.

Oh, Hikari are FAR less stressful to collect than Pops. Far fewer and not even a fraction of the license/character selection that Pop has but 98% of them are easily attainable and for a reasonable cost. Yes they do cost more than a pop does, a common complaint, but they are of a higher grade vinyl and compared to a wave of pops that would equal the mass of one Hikari it is a reasonable price difference.
I always collected Iron Man pops.I got into collected a broader range Pops in 2014. By even then some of the older DC & Marvel pops, which was the bulk of my interest, where commanding crazy after-market prices. I found it to be somewhat of a turn off. After some frustration with not being able to have some of the classic Justice Leaguers, Red Skull, Thing, etc. in my collection and really digging on the Iron Man Hikari legion I made the switch last year right after SDCC. Haven't looked back since.

First and only: Bloody Predator. It was a lot smaller than I'd expected, once out of the box. Glad I got it at half-price but even $40 seemed expensive for what I got... very light as well. Haven't picked up another since nothing else has leapt out at me.

Re: Bought my first Hikari today. What was your first?
My first Hikari was the Metallic Rainbow Dash EE exclusive. I now have 6 of the 8 that have been released ( although one is on pre-order) . I liked the Hikari, but wasn't interested in collecting them until Rainbow Dash was announced. I'll probably only collect any My Little Pony Hikari. (I hope, I don't think my wallet can take much more!! )

Creature from the Black Lagoon (I wish they would go back and re-do some of the early releases in the new colorways), followed by the 'Scrapmen' (Batman scrappers from China) that appear in the backgrounds of some of my collection photos.
Got the original Mickey and am done with Hikari until they top it...or until I track down the first two Retro Freddy Hikari (Blue and Gold). Would really like to have those two.

My first Hikari were 3 of the Batman pieces in one shot. My girlfriend thought the Batman mold was so ugly and gave me grief over each and every piece I bought all the way to Batman completion. She despised the Hikari line altogether up until Disney. Now she is whistling a different tune.
