K-3PO... 2 different finishes?

Ordered another K-3PO for a custom project, arrived yesterday & it has a different finish from my first one.

The one on the left is the new one and has a slightly pearlescent white finish to him (plus the 2 dots on his chest are slightly larger). First one (right in pic) is just straight up flat white vinyl.

I am curious now, anyone else's K-3PO like one of these? I need to decide which one I am painting over...

I like the pearlescent but that sloppy eye paint job kills me so most likely that one will be my test subject.

Are the UPC's the same? It's not uncommon for hikari of the same finish to look very different because each one is hand finished. Could one person applied a thin coat of pearl finish while another was very heavy handed. Mine looks more like the right but it has a hint of pearl

Good point on the hand finishing. Same UPC, the first one I got has zero pearlescent finish to it which makes the other that much more noticeable. That blurry eye was the deal breaker, he will be my custom candidate.
