I don't think we will ever see a multi-color mini hikari. The fact is these are a really good price point.. i believe once you start adding in more colors and styles or hand painting to the process, it gets more expensive. This is probably why we've only ever seen these clear glitter styles across all the mini hikari available right now.

Lol sorry Shawn, I would love more crazy colorways, but I also would hate paying $80 for a mini!

That makes sense.

There are some cheaper ways to do it. Easiest would be a multicolor glitter mix. Also mixing different head and body colors in assembly, but that would take a bit more time in manufacturing. A simple tampo is fairly cheap as well (logo, eyes, etc.), all things considered, but I don't know how thin the margin is.

I'm totally certain there are methods to do more unique variants, but as far as full blown Hikari customization, I don't think we'll see any soon.

Indeed, full paint options at the lower pricepoint are pretty unlikely.

The nice thing about the low price point too, is you could buy an extra and do a custom yourself!

They are close but not as close as the glam shots looked.
TriFeckTa wrote:Thanks for the comparison pic Shawn, you don't know how tempted i am to pick it up now. I kind of wanted to be a completist with these but with the sdcc pieces being pretty limited i don't know if i should go for 100% completion with these.

No problem.
I am very curious to see how hard they are going to be to track down next week. Guessing they will all be at Fundays since no announcement for the Pop-Up Shop or Funko booth yet and they've said all announcements are done. Unless there is more to come to the Funko-Shop next week...

I wish i had seen it. It would be in my collection right now. Going to keep a real close eye on the shop this year. There is so many things I want at the Pop up shop. When i go to SDCC on Friday I'm going to give the shop a try but I can't camp out so probably miss it all. Just have to go with the flow and deal with it
