Funko originally caught my attention with their wacky wobblers. My girlfriend and I were on a tour of the Bay Area and stopped off at a small collectible store in Sausalito. The store was filled with tons of wacky wobblers, but what caught my attention was a Dr.Doom wacky wobbler that I had to have. Fast forward a couple of years and I started seeing Funko Pops around at Hot Topics. Initially I was intrigued at first sight, but tried to hold off because at the time I was very seriously into sneaker collecting. So I passed on a bunch of pops that I now regret never picking up. However, what finally made me cave in was the original Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers White Ranger Funko Pop. While growing up, Tommy was my favorite character on the show and I had to get him as the White Ranger. That's pretty much what started it all.

My girlfriend convinced me to join her for Fundays this year at SDCC and I had a blast. So then I surprised her and took her to the Grand Opening, and I am now hooked. The people in this community are so nice, the staff I've met have all been so nice, and awesome products too!

I can easily believe how Fundays would have gotten you hooked - it's an event like no other!!!

Fundays is the absolute best, easily one of my favorite things to do during sdcc. Just hoping that I get in again this year, it's pretty tough

Agree it's super tough, but all the fun in the Funko world if you can get in. In 2016 I got in because of the help of friends and this Funatics board. 2017 - no luck

I am really new to this whole pop thing, my first pop was a Michelangelo i got years ago (which i have since lost, sadly), the pops that got me into collecting were the mei and symmetra pops, i got them because i wanted some overwatch collectables. As of now i have 3 pops, but my birthday is really soon, and I'm hoping to get some more.

I actually started with Wobblers. Was at SDCC in 2006, had flown in from Korea for my first time. A friend of mine was fawning over these weird bobble heads, when I saw Bone Daddy and El Diablo I was hooked. I don't even think we went to the Funko booth, it was some random vendor that had bobble heads. Didn't even find out about a Funko booth until the next year. Actually didn't like Pops for the first couple years, the wife got our first with a Wonder Woman in 2013 and it's all been down hill from there with Pops.

Still have my first 2 Wobblers sitting above me in my studio looking down on me when I record.

I never collected a darn thing in my life. One day, my kids begged me to take them to the local comic shop because they wanted to look at "Pops". What are POPs????? My son just HAD to have a Deathstroke Pop. It was all downhill from there. We've been collecting for about exactly 2 years now, although it seems MUCH longer, !

Same as tonychen2121, I started collecting last year during SDCC 2016 and have been hooked ever since. Funko has opened up with all of their pop culture vinyl figures. This is what caught my eye and started to pursue collecting Funko Pops. I've attended a couple of Funko's events like, Fundays and their new HQ opening in Everett, WA. I don't have a particular line of Pops that I collect. I just collect the ones that I like and the ones that stand out for me.

Hubby & I resisted the urge for years. Then one day, we visited the WB Studio Store after Conan taping and saw Ygritte and Oliver Queen on clearance there. We're suckers for clearance so we bought. Then later that night we bought Arkham Batman and The Flash while killing time at B*N before a movie.

Little did we know our Pop collection was born! And Ygritte is our favorite child! Lol

I discovered pops in 2014 when I saw the Sharknado one in-store. It was so goofy looking to me at the time and made me laugh. I found a hobby in collecting toys after hunting Smash Bros. Amiibo. When that line was nearing it's end I wanted to find something new to fill the void, and remembered pops existed. Picked up my first two pops at Books-A-Million back in 2015. They both were Deadpool, one regular and the other X-men blue. I've been hooked ever since. I'm currently 10 pops shy of hitting 400.

Cousin dragged me to SDCC, cousin insisted I wait all night in line with him for these mysterious toys called "POPS", finally got a ticket for the funko booth(Still have no clue what POPS are at this point), then cousin insists i have to wait in the funko booth line, after 2 hours finally got POPS. Hated every minute of it but decided they're actually really fun and cool, and now I'm addicted to POPS!!!!!

Would you mind telling me how you got started collecting them, how many you have now, and how much you'd estimate you've spent on them?

I'll go first: I started buying them for my girlfriend after seeing them at various conventions. We only have a few so far, but there's a Funko pop store in NYC that we will visit soon!

I started picking up Wacky Wobblers in 2003/2005 but didn't get my first pop until my wife bought me a Hulk pop. I was instantly hooked.

I got my first pop in 2013 from a mate in Melbourne (Loki 36), but didn't buy my first pop till Feb this year when they released the Infinity War series. I went from just Infinity war to Spidey, Cap, Marvel and now Disney.

When I purchased the tix I didn’t really think anything of it. But when I found out it was sold out in 60 seconds I knew this was going to be awesome. So many unique stories. I got my start actually from my niece and nephew. They were huge fans of The Show Supernatural and thought the vinyl figures were in their words..."Cool looking." So they sent me on the hunt for Castiel at Hot Topic and after searching and searching I finally found one. But in the process and along the way I met some really cool people who simply let one small part of their lives become a fun filled journey. It's been a rewarding process. After that first initial hunt I've been steadily look for more Pops since.

2 years ago my friend and I heard about this pretty cool funko party they have every year at comic con. Went online got 2 tickets (thinking it was no big deal at the time) “ok cool we got tix” and boy was my mind BLOWN AWAY at fundays. Been collecting numbered pops and dorbz ever since. My brother got me hooked on Funko. My first PoP was the Swinging Friar the mascot for the San Diego Padres. Got that at a 99 cents store. I've been collecting for 2 years and I have a little over 200 pops. I wanna say I've spent a little over 1k on pops. I try to hold my self back on buying too many pops.
