Guess since we didn't have too much info about them and I have a pretty good relationship with my Gamestop I thought it'd be good to get in early in case there is a chase or something ends up being an exclusive.

Yeah you never know. And if these have a chase that may be hard to get. It's such an iconic line that almost everyone remembers these in a happy meal or play land that it could mean a high demand. Even the commons may be hard to come by.

I need a few of these. And most of the McDonalds around here took out their play land.

Isn't everything nowadays a liability issue? Back when we were kids the area we lived in Playland was a lot safer to play than the local park.

When I preorder commons, I always get the chase. Additionally, preordering the Joe Montana asssured I actually got one when they started pulling them back.

Unfortunately it seems that way. I'm not sure how kids have fun today. Who didn't like climbing into Mayor McCheeses head! It looked like you were in jail. Plus the ball pit was always an adventure. Haha

So sadI was trying to find a ball pit for a scavenger hunt a few years ago and ended up having to climb into a ball pen at Target to get the picture. Yes, I know they were germ infested hellholes, but they were fun if you didn't think too much about it.
Haha. That was the beauty of us being kids then. We didn't care. Did you check a chuck e cheese? Don't they still have ball pits?

It WAS the beauty of it. If it was fun, it was fine. My mom didn't chase me around with wipes.

I checked. Not the Chuck E Cheese by me, unfortunately. I even went to Ikea... but they wouldn't let me in the ball pit. It was the scavenger hurt run by Wizard.... can we do a scavenger hunt on these boards?!?!?

Haha my cousins wife won't even let me touch his kid unless I have i have gloves on. Haha.
That's crazy no ball pit at chuck e cheese but Ikea has one!?!? The Swedes know whats up!!
If you go to SDCC the Conan pops were kind of a scavenger hunt. I wonder if they will do the same next year??

I have a four year old... I encourage germs!

I know! Who would have thought, right? We were there to find some other odds and ends on the scavenger hunt list and was like, "OH YEA!" .... then the mean Head Swede says, "OH NO!" it was very sad.

I was trying to help our friends there find them remotely from the other coast.

Haha. Got to build that immune system.
You couldn't snap a pic of the kid enjoying good old fashion germ pool?
Hopefully they do it again next year. I was full sprinting a few times. Once for Spiderman and once for the GOT Conan. Missed them both. Haha. I probably need an east coast operative to assist in the hunt.

I'm a big fan of not having to worry and being as stress free as possible. So pre-ordering anything makes me have less worries in life and I can focus on other things.

You know as well as I do that any common can suddenly turn into the NEXT BIG THING. So the pre-order just secures that for me. I also have a really good relationship with my GS so if a chase comes in they put that down as my pre-order hold.
Also more stores are reducing their stock of POPs as so many commons are left clogging the shelves. I have no idea what stores would carry these and promote another company, so I took the opportunity to know that I have them coming in.
Plus with GS, a lot of times if it is not pre-ordered your local store may not get it.

I get all that, but GS is prob the worst place to pre-order, their pops are significantly higher in price than anywhere else. I only buy from HT or GS if they have an exclusive, other than that I won't spend over 9.99.

I'm with ya! And at Gamestop at that! $12.99 a pop, commons are much cheaper other places or you can use coupons etc. But I guess it can give some people ease of mind if its something they REALLY want, knowing that they will for sure have it and not have to worry about going all around to get it. But I'm to cheap I'd go hunting around where the price is right!

I'm so anxcious to see the glam shots of them though!!! I hope they drop them soon!

I understand and agree but for me, the time to travel to the stores or having to factor in shipping dictates my purchasing habits.
Most stores are 30 mins or more away from me so I have to rely on what is convenient...or cheaper. There is a GS near my work so I can stop by on my lunch break or on the way home.
So an $11.99 POP from GS looks good compared to a $9.99 POP with $2 - $7 shipping charges or with an hour drive round trip plus gas & traffic.
The downfall of living out of the city I guess.

Convenience = I'm going to pay more money especially for peace of mind
It's also the same reason you'll see people pay a premium on eBay for HT exclusives that are most likely readily available at stores near them. Sometimes it's just easier to pay the extra couple of bucks to guarantee you are getting what you want without having to stress about it.

When part of my LOTR order came in at Gamestop this week, they told us that McDonalds was on the way from the warehouse (he had preordered those). Maybe as soon as this week!

If you do not see them on the list, ask about them.
My store never had them on the pre-order list but they were in the computer for pre-order.
