Re: Making Room for POPs
To keep my answer short, things have gotten way out of hand so it's been DVDs, Blu-rays and clothes that have been going first. I'm not sure what I would even clear out next. It's hard to come by display cases where I live but if I ever do, I'm thinking about unboxing all the Dorbz which would increase the available space.

Re: Making Room for POPs
I'm lucky enough that I have an office in home. Currently, I have all of mine stacked along my walk in closet. I'd like to do proper shelving eventually, but I'd like to wait until I have a more permanent home.

Re: Making Room for POPs
I've collected other things in the past and know how easy it is to get out of control. For once I have been better about only getting what I want, and between my husband and I we have maybe 175 Pops and Dorbz. We are very selective because we have such little room and will be losing a bit more with an upcoming move in 10 days.

Re: Making Room for POPs
I unboxed the Mad Max Rick Pop Ride yesterday because I really had no more room and just put him on the shelf and he barely fit. I don't like to obstruct the view of the boxes.
But question to those that have so many Pops.. do you plan on downsizing your collection if you are not able to display them all? I rather get rid of those that just don't fit my collection taste anymore rather than store them in my close out of sight.

Re: Making Room for POPs
Right now living in an apartment limits the space for my collection. My boyfriend and I can only put them in a limited number of shelves. In the beginning the bookshelves were shared with my cds/dvds but now we had to get a separate shelf to store them and set the loose mystery minis on top. All my books are already gone from the bookshelves too and stored in the closet. Things get moved around quite often with every new addition to sets.
This be Aud, o2thedbld, odd!

Re: Making Room for POPs
I started with a small bookshelf, then glass cabinets, then 2, then big bookcases, then everything mentioned as wall as an entire wall in my room. At one point I had most of the collection displayed, but that took about 2 entire walls in my room. Goodbye pictures, decor, everything haha. Now, Im in the process of converting the garage into a display room of some sort. Hopefully, that will be able to display everything. Thinking about how I am going to do it scares me.

I thought the same as you in the sense that I Funko would be a good collection since there were not that many but now there are so many releases every month I can't keep up hahaha!
This is my dream! A Funko room. Granted, my apartment is pretty much all Funko everywhere at this point. Love setting up displays and quickly run out of space. Have a combination of bookshelves, detolfs, baseball bat displays, and just putting Funko products around everything displayable surface. Can’t believe what started as a 5 piece collection in my first has multiplied to needing a whole room!
Hahaha I feel like every collector says that. I know I did! I had a small apartment when I started collecting and I ran out of room so fast! Thankfully I've had the opportunity to upgrade spaces a bit.

I've downsized my collection because of lack of room numerous times, but it keeps getting back up there.

Re: Making Room for POPs
It is madly insane how fast the collection can grow, especially if you still try to be selective of which Pops you own. I'm an OOTB collector, but I still store the boxes inside bins and hide them in my attic. It's been about four years now and no matter what my collection is going to keep growing. The only line I try to collect all the figures (excluding exclusives meaning metallic) are the TMNT. It's just tough when you love multiple Pop lines and try to select one or two pops to remind you of that memory. If you check out the hashtag #FunkoPopWallOfGreatness on IG you'll see what I mean. I recently divided my wall into three categories: Badass Fighters, Childhood Favorites, and Marvel vs. DC. I may have to add a new row in a few months

I was hoping to get some floating shelves to hang on my walls, but I've recently discovered how difficult it is to drill into concrete walls (I live in an apartment in NY). Anyone handy out there that may have a few pointers?
They have concrete drill bits that you can get at hardware stores and concrete anchor. You can normally buy a box of like 20ish and it will have the correct drill bit inside. The holes will look big but once you get the anchors inside to hold the screws those shelves won't be coming off, unless you are hanging on it. But should hold up floating shelves and pops fine. The anchors will have a load rating. So take into account how heavy your shelf is and how many pops you plan to put on that shelf.

Thanks for the advice! I've picked up some concrete screws at a local hardware store. Unfortunately, the drill I have is isn't strong enough to push them into the wall. I could buy a better drill, but then I'd have no money for Pops. Such is the struggle!

You can rent tools from lowes and home depot sometimes. But maybe a homie has one you can borrow. If I was closer I'd hook you up. But I'm on the other coast. Lol

But think about how it will feel once the room is ready. That's where the satisfaction comes in! Definitely post how it looks like after a remodel. I don't have a dedicated room for my pops, but i am working on it.

Definitely can't wait for the finished product, but oh boy...is it a journey to get there...not to mention buying those ikea glass display cases every other week will lengthen the process. haahh...plus i have 1300+ pops @____@

I hired a carpenter who designed a whole new cupboard specifically for my Pops (and a few action figures). Cost a pretty penny too but well worth it. I was tired of my Pops not being in one place.

I need more shelving but i really shouldn't take up anymore room in the living room with storage for Funko. I've already got boxes and bins sitting in the living room.

My mother in law just moved out so I have a new office/Pop room. Before I had everything double stacked and just unorganized. I put up in the new room had to buy 5 new shelves and realized I still have more than an entire room can hold. Guess it’s time to clean out some! Super sad. STOP making new ones I HAVE TO HAVE please.

Hey at least collecting pops is a form of entertainment, so it’s still your “entertainment” room!

I have a limited amount of space like most people, I rotate the ones I have on display. I have them stacked two rows deep and I will alter the display with new ones I pick up.
