I'm from California and while I can't think of any specific mythical creature associated with California, I could name a few from the Philippines, since I'm Filipino...

There are aswang, kapre, mananangal, siyokoy, just to name a few.

Mananangal were recently featured on a WatchMojo video. They're basically creatures that detach from their lower half of the body, while the top half flies off in the night to search for pregnant women and eat their fetuses with their long tongues. The only way to kill it is to find the lower half of the body and pour salt on it so that it can't return to it's body.

Pretty creepy, huh?

Hmm. Actually, where else could they be sold so they we're more accessible? I wouldn't want to try and go to LAX to buy a Pop, unless I happen to be there. Probably would still have to be the normal distribution places like GameStop, Box lunch, Hot Topic.

I think it would be awesome if it was a line of Freddys and every Freddy was dressed up as a monument or animal or holding an iconic building (like shake weight Freddy). LOL, I grew up in Phila and remember hearing about the Jersey Devil. We have the Chessie, (water monster that lives in the Chesapeake Bay.

I wonder if states is tough though I know that each state has a bird so maybe that would be a cute idea. Mike Mitchell one of my fave artists does these "fat bird" series so I think most state birds would lend themselves nicely to a "pop" or "mini" form and would attract different types of collectors.
