I'm really glad that pops have started to really Branch out from the original post that I like to call the "squat" pose, and we're getting different shapes, Heights and now we're getting 10 inch pops. But they do come with the side effects of having really small legs and being off balance as well as falling over all the time. what do you think are the pros and cons of moving on two different?

First, yes there are problems with the more detailed poses and big heads with tiny legs. They can have a hard time standing up. Happens a lot with the female characters.

I actually preferred the older standard poses. They were simpler and I like that about early pops. Maybe I’m in the minority, but i love Dorbz too for that reason. Clearly as they have getting more detailed, they have been getting more fans. Not sure if there was a correlation or not.

I agree, there are a few i dislike that just have a hard lean to them, tried everything possible to stand them up but they go back.

As much as I love the classic bodies, I think I prefer the newer ones with the details and better sculpts. My only wish is that they would pose some of them so that the stands would still help (and also just give all of them an optional plastic disc stand since some could use the support even if they stand fine on their own.

My biggest issue with flaws like that are the fact that a lot of pops that have stands to support them arent properly fitted. I have quite a few pops where the holes dont line up size wise with the prongs or the legs arent far enough apart so you cant get the pop onto both prongs.

I’m liking the new poses, especially the creative stuff they did with the disney treasures pops. Even with some stability issues, it’s nice to mix it up.

Most of the time I can fix it with putty and action figure disks

The Khalessi falls over in just about every pose except for the white wedding dress. That was also a problem with the Vinyl Vixens, they never stood up. Fortunately some super glue inside the foot hole does help a good amount.

I jumped into this thread to post this specifically.

I don't know, as my collection grew, this is what I've discovered about myself. I actually really like having my older pops in box. But I'm finding it harder and harder to keep the newer pops in box, because some of them are so detailed and really cool looking or have little things about them that make them unique.

Like I never knew Alladin had a loaf of bread hidden behind his back until my fiance, who is a OOB collector told me. Or how detailed the Okoye Pop is, or just recently--the Popeye Pop, I didn't want it, but my fiance did and when she displayed it, I was like, "Wow. That's actually pretty awesome. Good pick up, hon."

I think, Reverend has a quote from brian--something along the lines of GO Boxless -- it's more fun. I have a few POPs OOB right now--mostly the recent wave of GoT and the incredibles and I have to say, it's growing on me. I still have my exclusives in box though, but that might change with Fire Jack Jack and Chrome Jack Jack.

We will see.

I love the poses as long as it comes with a stand. My biggest pet peeve is Hei Hei from Moana, pun intended. Could've been easily solved with a plastic stand for his feet.

Of course I love all the dynamic poses from new pops, but the squat pops will always have a special place in my heart. That was good time.

I definitely love the newer, more dynamic poses! And I think Funko is aware that some of these Pops can fall over so I think that's why they include the stands. However, sometimes the stand doesn't always work so well when the Pop is too top heavy (e.g. DJ Sona needs something else to lean on besides just using the stand). I think some of the flying pose stands are a little wonky too (e.g. Batman vs Superman or Yondu) – they can be a little cumbersome to put together and then seem to easily fall off of the stand. I definitely do appreciate the strides Funko takes to make Pops more detailed and interesting, and hope that they can figure out something better for the stands in the future.

I Don’t have this problem personally. Keep them in the box and you won’t either . Seriously though, I have some out of box and if they don’t pass the initial stand test I just put them back in.

You can also heat them up and force them to the position they need to be in order to stand. Easier to do this when they are softer from the heat.

I’ve gotten pretty good at leaning my OOB pops casually against things so they’ll stay standing! Of course, it’s all over if there’s an earthquake

I like the better detail, but they definitely have to up the quality control. Pops should be able to stand and be stable.

i like it but some pops really need to come with a base like black goku, I find him facedown all the time

I'm a mostly in-box collector so if they don't stand well I don't mind. But for OOB collectors they need to be able to support that head and be stable

Dorbz are great because they don't have the balance issue.

I love the new poses and additional detail on newer pops. Some figures HAVE to have dynamic poses otherwise their pops kind of suck (Original Spiderman). It allows Funko to recycle characters while keeping the figure fresh. No more 'lazy variants'.

I think the supergirl dorbz from bombshells was cancelled or delayed because of this issue. couldn't get the mold to balance right.... I want to say it was supposed to be a HT exclusive as well

I really like the new dynamic poses that incorporate the action as part of the stand. Some capes and some of the "environment" that the action creates to help balance and stabilize the POP is super cool and great design. Like a third leg, a tail or "super hero pose" also helps to keep the figure stable.

I don't take mine out of the box so this doesn't tend to impact me as much but I do feel like some of my minis fall over too much. Probably why I have been buying more PSH lately. Plus I can sneak those tiny things in lots of small spots.

Interesting thing about dorbz...I took one apart because the base inset was off kilter and I wanted to fix it. There was a plastic blob inside like a a ballast to keep the figure from being top heavy.
