Barnes and Noble (surprisingly) sometimes has online sales and free shipping with orders over a certain amount. There might be a cheaper option, but I usually end up getting mine at around $5 per case.

I've been putting all my pops in a protector regardless if they're "expensive" or common. I can see how that can start to get expensive given that the plastic containers range in cost from $.50-$3. Also do you prefer displaying your pops freely or in their boxes?

I put them in soft protector right away and stack them and place them where ever I have room.

Hmm. Can’t say I’ve ever purchased a protector. I’m a mixture of in and out of box collector though, so boxes aren’t too much of a thing for me.

I find them a lot easier to display in boxes, my box wall goes to the celling!

I put the valuable ones in soft protectors though "just in case". Pun intended.

If you’re an inbox collector then soft protectors are a good way to go if you are stacking them on top of each other. Otherwise there will be wear just by them piled up. I keep my more valuable ones in stacks.

They're almost always running a 15% off sale or something similar. I wait until those happen and then strike like a cobra. Or something.

I came into this thread thinking it was more about encasing unboxed Pops in a sealed off display case. That I'm totally for! I need more of them, but Daiso had these perfectly sized display boxes that fit minis and Pops really well. Also the ones from The Container Store that others use for minis are tall enough for pretty much any Pop, but you can only keep about 5 in each of em. Both types are stackable too, so that makes displaying and saving space really efficient.

I really liked the ones sold by a guy on the funkoswap subreddit with the username Cojeko. I bought a few 50 packs from him over the years. I'm going to need more soon now that I've built some new shelves, actually.

A lot of people also recommend the ones from 7bucksapop.com but I wasn't overly thrilled with the logo stamp and lock tab on the top.
Or did you think I'd be too stupid to know what a eugoogoly was?

I agree. I was put off by the logo stamp and hated the locking tab. My favorite soft protectors now come from Chalice Collectibles. They are the best out there.

I don't have any protectors. My collection is for me, not for reselling (I'm a hoarder; I used to collect sneakers over 10 years ago, but I still refuse to sell what I have), so some bent corners don't bother me.

Yep, best part about stacks is you can store so many along one wall and you can display them at the same time.

I got a lot of pops I want to put in cases. Was thinking about pooling with some friends importing cases directly from China via Aliexpress.

Anyone have any experience buying directly from the Chinese factories? Bulk prices are ridiculously cheap, and minimum orders aren't totally unreasonable either.

I take my pops out of box, and put them in baseball bat display cases, and the put the pop boxes in soft protectors up above the display case, and the occasional hard stacks for my personal grails. It's mainly in case the shelves ever drop, or one of the boxes falls when I open up the case.

I love the backgrounds you made for the oversize pops and movie moments! I like to keep most of my pops in box in book cases with doors, as they look organized, and helps to keep the dust away. But 10' pops and sets too large to keep in box, I keep OOB.

I’m the same way! I don’t ever put stuff in even soft protectors unless they’re over like $150 or so. Very few of my items have stacks on them, mainly just because they’re so hard to try to easily fit into walls of pops

it all depends on the pop. chases don't even bother. if you collect in box anything with limited numbers. for me anything that's limited 3000 pieces or less I put pop protector on. also if it's a pop I really like then I put a pop protector on it.

I buy hard stacks for my more expensive items and use soft protectors for the stuff 50 and under. Either way if you want to stack pops on top of each other it is definitely good to put them all in protectors. With out it the pops will start succumb to the weight.

I buy hard stacks for anything numbered. Or hard to find. They're pretty cheap during box lunch sales; or gamestop has them frequently. Gamestop has their own house brand that i think works pretty good too. I always try to keep 5-10 stacks on hand in case I find anything cool in the wild haha.

I'm very much on the hard case end of the spectrum, and part of that's probably due to me also backing/bagging/boxing all the comics I collect...a lil bit on the pricier side compared to the soft cases, but I just like the uniformity the hard cases give when putting them next to each other.

Regarding this, what is the best soft protector to buy in bulk at the most reasonable price? I’ve accidentally bought 50 of the soft protectors with the tab in the middle of the top tab (never doing that again). But there were these soft protectors from Gemini that have ridges on each edge and when you unfold any of the flaps, they stay open because of those ridges. But I couldn’t buy them on Gemini’s site.

Can someone point me in the right direction to get those in bulk?

if i may ask... where do you get your protectors?
possible link?

Barnes and Noble (surprisingly) sometimes has online sales and free shipping with orders over a certain amount. There might be a cheaper option, but I usually end up getting mine at around $5 per case.

i've been looking for the cheapest bet
ill start with barnes

When they have a good sale I but them from there. It's all about waiting for the right sale and then stocking up.
