I flatten my boxes first. Sometimes I have to play with it to see which way folds the flattest. This makes it easier to handle when I have multiple signings to do. Also it is easier for them to sign and I don't have to worry about them crushing or dropping the box accidentally.

Then I have them sign on the window using an oil based paint pen. I will also try to match the color to the color scheme of the pop. I will also use post-its if I want them to sign in a certain area.

After the paint dries, I then place the pops in a thicker pop protector with a piece of tissue paper on top of the autograph.

I don't get mine signed. I have one from Kevin Smith because when we bought them they were signed. If I did honestly I think I would have them sign the protector and keep the box mint still.

I just can't bring myself to hurt the poor little boxes.

I like how the signature looks on the window because it stands out. Steven Amell signed onto the bottom right corner of the box....I love him still...but he was deducted a few brownie points for it....

Then Emily Beckett signed on the top edge of the window...on the plastic...but it was soooo odd....I prefer them to just sign over the center of the window....

I get that some people don't like it covering the window...but to each their own...everyone collects in their own way...I'm sure some people who are out of box collectors may have all their own preferences as well...maybe on the front, back, foot, head??? ahah thats an interesting one. Anyone care to comment?

Great idea, especially about the post-its.

I am definately adopting this technique.

I get them signed on the front plastic window. I do try and have them place the signature on the front so that it displays the best. So often times I will have them sign on the lower part of the plastic window to avoid signing over the pops face or something like that. I wouldn't get an expensive or rare pop signed but I think signed pops are a cool thing to have in my collection!

Amell signed the bottom left cardboard on mine a few years ago, I could tell he really didn't want to sign the window even though I had asked him to.
Emily bett also signed the top edge of my window too, and that was almost a year ago.

But I know as much as I like the front of the window signed, it's sometimes hard to get people to change their ways.

Interestingly enough I've not heard anyone say like the back of it. The windows seem to be the most popular place.

When I got the blood splatter Hannibal at SDCC, Bryan Fuller and Caroline Dhavernas signed the top lid. I didn't even really think about it at the time, I was having too much fun talking to them. I honestly don't care about having my pops signed, tho I have seen some nice window signatures with metallic sharpies.

I see a lot of Pops signed on the clear plastic window of the box, but I'd think that it's be easy to crease (or even break) that plastic if a person signs it with a strong hand.

Do folks have a preference?

yep! Right on the window. From what I've seen, most of those who signs pops know to be gentle.

I had them sign it on the window. Don't forget to get an oil based marker so it won't fade!

I forgot about that rule when Shannon Purser signed my 8-Bit Barb pop! Will get my own oil based marker when I go to Cons.

I prefer to have it signed on the window box as well. I find it odd to have it signed on the top flap of the box.

With my single signature pops on the front is best but I just hand it over and they sign where they like. With multiple signatures (tardis) I let them choose, McCoy chose the front and capaldi chose the top. I was asked with capaldi and I said you choose
