Target exclusive Jack Jack, iron Spiderman and Elastigirl

Waited 2 hours in line this morning (I was third in line). Manager came out 20 mins before opening and wrote a list of all of the ones we were waiting for. Comes out 5 mins before opening and tells us to go to customer service desk. At opening we go to customer service, only 8 people were in line, and same manager is there and tells us 1 per person. Not 1 of each but 1 pop per person. WTF?!?!?

Not even the same policy as the last time I was in the store for the Panther combo. Missed out at that store because because the woman who was in front of me bought one and her INFANT child was allowed to purchase the last one.

This was a weird policy I have been hearing about from various Targets and there's slight alteration to it depending on the store. Very strange.

Yeah it's been weird. I checked brickseeker and it said that both of these Incredible pops were in stock at 1 store in my area so I went and didn't see any of them, when I asked they said they didn't have any at all and haven't had any.

Brickseek is so hit or miss. It said that the Target by me had Elastigirl all day and when I asked and looked that morning they said they didn’t have any or didn’t get them. Later in the day Brickseek said not in stock. I think someone bought them all that morning and it didn’t update correctly

Buddy of mine had the same problem. Ive had it where I had employees check the stock of surrounding stores, they tell me where they have them in stock, we call the store to confirm, they confirm both computer and visually, they put it on hold and I get there and they tell me they never had them in stock and the person gave me wrong information????

Target releases are impossible. I've long given up. Online is the only way if you are lucky enough to catch it. How does anyone find anything at these stores?

I think it's tough being in SoCal...too many people and way too many collectors make the store hunts a crap shoot. You gotta be there first thing at the open and hope it works out. :/ It's definitely frustrating, but it's always been like this for me even before Funko. :/ At least more stuff shows up online now than action figures back in the day.

It's quite annoying. Granted Brickseek isn't 100% accurate, but it acts as a guide...just annoying when their system agrees but they don't have a location for them.

I always try to find someone who doesn't work in the department. I hope that they don't know what Funko is. A lot of the electronics guys always seem to hold for 'friends'

So I just left a target and talked to the toy section manager. The Jack Jack DPCI sticker on the outside of the case was put on The Incredibles assortment so that is why it is showing as in stock at a bunch of stores. smh

Yay! One Target store nearby had the Iron Spider in and I was able to get one this morning! Likewise, for the Owen w/ Raptor Pop, as well as the Mermaid Deadpool. I had to ask to see if any were in and the items were there.
No Fire Jack-Jack or Elastigirl though. Not in yet for the store I went to.

This is just getting out of hand, Target.

I like it! This “system” is giving most a shot in buying the Pops they want without rushing to the store, and not worrying about someone buying the whole stock. I do realize each store does handle things very differently, but the ones I have gone to, I don’t see any problem at all.

Um, no. Employees hiding pops in the back isn't a good system for collectors. If they have a product, put it on the shelf.

How is it bad? If it stops someone from taking a whole box for reselling purposes, and it allows others to get the item they are looking for easily, then it’s working. This system controls the “1 per customer” rule better as well. It’s nice to avoid EBay when you can. Now if a worker is hiding a box on purpose for a certain customer or to buy it, then yes...that would be bad for collectors. Asking to see if a single item is in is not hard. I do understand if you are worried about a worker lying to you.

I have seen employees, with my own eyes, put a box under the counter and then call a 'buddy' who came in about 10 minutes to buy them. I personally think this is what most of the employees are doing when situations like this happen.

Just picked up a Fire Jack Jack, Elastigirl and Iron Spidey at my local Target this morning. It couldn’t have been any smoother. Since more than a few people showed up, we lined up at the electronics counter and the employee informed us that it will be just 2 exclusives per person, however, we could get 2 more after the line cleared up. No one complained and the Target employees were incredibly helpful. I got my Jack Jack and Elastigirl and a few of us waited for the line to clear and than I was able to get my Iron Spidey. I have been collecting various things for years and I really stopped hunting because it became so competitive and cutthroat, and it just wasn’t fun for me anymore. Today’s experience really brought me back to how it used to be, and how it should be. It was just a group of people having fun collecting awesome toys.

As I approached the electronics section, I could hear the sounds of a customer argument growing louder. I rounded the corner and saw a woman who appeared to be at least in her 50s, wearing a Funko shirt and jabbing her phone screen into an employee's face yelling "This is bullsh*t! Brickseek says you still have them! Just tell me where they are!!"

I slowly backed away, left the store, drove home, and decided to wait until Iron Spidey drops online

Ugh...that's taking it too far. Target employees must hate brickseek. It's not 100% accurate people! Just use it as a guide, but don't yell at someone b/c it's there. Best thing to do is have them search their system for the DPCI. That's better than using brickseek. At least that's what I do. Use brickseek to see if it's in stock, give them the DPCI to see if they can locate it.

I find it best to not care about instore Target exclusive releases because they're ridiculously hard to get in SoCal... I just hope the ones I want go online, and they have been so I am happy to avoid the store
