Anyone ever been to a HTNerdette Meetup at SDCC?

Yes and it was a dope event. Free drinks and food and you get to meet HTnerdette along with some others. The funkast group went last year and it was chill just chatting with them as well. They did giveaways by raffle tickets, the prizes ranged from protos, ht shared sdcc exclusives, gift cards, and random mystery bags.

That sounds like a lot of fun! It's really cool that the funkast crew went to hang out too!

Man, I really want flocked pandapool. Getting it will be a nightmare though. No way I can be at a store at open and online will be a bloodbath. I also suspect the secondary market will be super inflated too...at least for the first 2-3 months.

Can anyone give a quick rundown how the NYCC meetup was announced and ticketed last year? I didn't try for the SDCC one -- I think I had a conflict -- but would like to try to attend this year if possible!

it was tweeted out I believe. think it was limited to 100 people with no plus one. I went and think it was Eventbrite or something like that and it didn't sell out for almost an hour. it's probably because it was the same time as the fugitive party.... but that party cost $150 and the meetup was free.

anything free and not ticketed will draw a crowd.... I think people lined up WAY earlier than they had expected and it was interfering with patrons of the restaurant so they had to ask people to not wait in line so early if I remember correctly.

Yes. The restaurant contacted HT Nerdette or someone affiliated I believe. I think they had put something out on Facebook about it. I didn’t get there too early and then just waited across the street outside the Hyatt

I wanted to go to this but I think the tls thing was that same night. In hindsight I would’ve gone to this!! Definitely going to give it a shot this year!

Hopefully it will mellow out over time. It will definitely be inflated in the beginning and slowly drop.
