I would have to agree, the 8 bit pops. They are strange looking, kind of look the same only different colors. No real form. Just my opinion.

The my hero academia pops literally made me go "huh" because I thought they looked so weird. Like some half-rabbit battle thing. So I watched the anime, loved it, and bought the pops . So glad funko made them and stocked my curiosity!

I'll be honest, I feel like there's always at least three major franchises a year that Funko goes ALL OUT on that make me scratch my head. This year we already got a ton of Pops from Netflix's Bright and the critically-loathed Hello Neighbor. Previous years gave us such beloved shelf-warmers as the Valerian line, and who can forget everyone's favorite permanent Wal-Mart fixture, Son of Zorn?

Now, I'm not a Funko employee. I don't know who makes those decisions to go hog wild on a property that hasn't even been released yet. But you'd think Funko would be a lot more hesitant to make entire lines based around such huge gambles?

Or maybe production companies pay Funko to make Pops as a promotional stunt? I legitimately don't know, but my Wal-Mart can't get rid of those Son of Zorn Pops, and it makes me wonder how we got here in the first place

EDIT. I really shouldn't give them too much slack for this, especially as someone who loves Scott Pilgrim and Iron Giant, two monumental flops that didn't become popular beloved cult classics until years later...

Everyone is different but I would say all the pops about a person. Like Bob Ross, Royal family & Movie stars. Also please do not start reality pops.

I will have to agree with the 8-bit Pops. I was actually quite relieved when they unveiled them at Fundays, because I knew immediately that I would never want those and therefore my wallet was safe.

I was pretty confused about The Blacklist. The show is fine I guess, not not exactly widely loved.
Also Yo Gabba Gabba. I know these are toys, but for the most part, but they don't tend to appeal to very young kids.

I agree with everyone saying the 8-bit pops. I think they look off. They don't really add anything, they just make the character harder to recognize, imo. I think it has to do with the fact that 8-bit video games were 2-dimensional, not 3.

There's only a few I can think of; Gemini Zodiac (would have been amazing if done similarly to the Tattler Twins Pop), the action-pose pink ranger (Head is way too square), and the new Transparent Master Chief - from the glams it looks very milky which is disappointing.
However, they're all good in their own right and I think the majority who dislike a Pop feel that way because it's not something they're interested in.

One of the coolest things about Funko is that they make some obscure items for fandoms that don't really have collectibles. Sure I've scratched my head at some items, but I'm sure there is someone out there who absolutely loves them and is thrilled that Funko made them.

As for 8-bits I love em and hope they make more Mega Man ones

Agree on the Pink Ranger..I wonder why they didn't just use the old head sculpts for the new action poses. They would've looked a lot better IMO
