Haha I agree, there are some pretty obscure Star Wars characters who got Popped. I think Star Wars collectors obsess over all characters though so its not as big of a deal when they get a Pop! for a character that doesn't do anything in the movies
I collect all the SW pops...so relate to this. the star wars universe is pretty amazing if with the smaller charcters

And that’s precisely why we are all here. From the ridiculous to the sublime, Funko has made pops for all of us. I love early Hanna Barbera. Who makes anything HB? Funko does and chances are they have made an obscure favorite of yours.
That's the best thing about Funko. There aren't any other figures out there that look so tidy and uniform as much as Pops and Dorbz. Plus, who else makes figures for Friends (my favourite set that really got me into Pops)?
I totally agree about HB. Whilst I don't remember their shows particularly fondly - I think I was a bit young for them - I really adore how they look.
Pop Count: ~300; Latest: Spirit Mufasa
Dorbz Count: 70; Latest: Huckleberry Hound 8-pack
Rock Candy's: 24; Latest: Belle
Favourite Pop's: Hades Chase, Pain & Panic, Lord Drakkon
Favourite Dorbz: Alice 4-pack, Green Arrow/Black Canary, Penelope Pitstop
Favourite Rock Candy's: Sirius, Bellatrix, and Jessica Rabbit
Custom Count: 25 Pops, 5 PSH, 48 Dorbz, 17 Misc; Most Recent: Kermit PSH

Most of the South Park ones. I wanted SP pops until the made them. They have no personality and look souless.

They've done some pretty obscure ones. They should get into some of the KOTOR and graphic novel characters. I know Disney has disavowed a lot of it, claiming it's not canon.

But then they have the single "Legends" figure with the Shadow Guard. They should really do more for the Legends line, resurrect some characters from the post original trilogy books I grew up reading.
Also: I have no idea where to display my lone Shadow Guard, since he doesn't fit into any of the categories. This is a massive problem!

So, so many. But a lot of them I understand others liking, for example- Golden Girls. Was very bored by the show the few times I bothered to watch it, couldn't imagine a less appealing Pop series to me. But I know others love the show and so I can understand that those might sell OK despite me not liking them. But then there are others that I am just like "who would ever want this?" Build-a-Bear Pops, that's all I'm saying

I came here to say the exact same thing. haha. I get the TMNT, Nightmare on Elm Street, and Friday the 13th ones cause they were actually an 8 bit game at one time, but why the Stranger Things 8 bit, Funko?
I'm New to the boards, but have been collecting since 2015. I collect POP!, Pint Size Heroes, and Mystery Minis. I'm excited to connect with other funatics and make new friends in the community.

I didn't know there was 8 bit games of Elm Street and Friday 13th, that explains those then!

Re: Pops That Made You Go "Huh??"
8 Bit probably would’ve been received better if they started with old school video games instead of things that weren’t. Things like Megaman and even TMNT are kind of cool to me (even though i don’t collect them) and then the rampage ones were dope. I think there’s a good market for them with specific lines
I have to second whoever mentioned the going all in on a certain movie or show really early on. Drop a character or two to get people excited, and then if it’s a hit go all out....that would be my mindset at least. But I’m sure there are more complicated matters with the licensing.

Gotta say Gwenpool. Don't get me wrong, I love her and she's in my top 3 favorite Marvel characters, but because of how she expresses emotions and whatnot in the comics with her face, she didn't carry over well into pop form. No fault to Funko though, they did the best they could.

I am not a fan of 8-bit either. But I had to get the 8-bit Xenomorph.
The new space invaders line just reminds me of the Lootcrate exclusive space invader figures they had a while back.

I would have to say the mister rogers pop. same pop just different color pants and sweater, and he has something in his hand. And like other people said, the 8 bit line.

But he has two different things in his hands are super iconic for the show. Idk, I grew up with him, so I get these variations. Tho I don't get why there is a sweater variation, at least none of them are super hard to get. Not that I own any of them,

I'd have to agree on 8-bit for stuff that wasn't, like Batman and Batgirl.
