That's pretty crazy, right?!
weren't they the only ones to get the last horror set? granted it was mostly repeats but it was a whole case just for them.
I believe so, yeah. They got a case with 3 exclusives but the rest were dupes (with new ratios, which upset a lot of people who had the original ones when they were rare ratios). It's been ages since we've gotten a full set of new horror minis that I'm starting to think the horror line is dead.
Until recently I thought Horror Classics might be dead if it was an issue with mixing so many different IP's in one blind set. It's probably easier from a licensing standpoint to have separate Universal Monsters and Ghostbusters sets than it is to mix the two and add another ten licenses as well. Still, the Ad Icons line had several different licenses mixed in together, so it's not impossible. With the introduction of two different horror-themed mini lines with new designs though, my hopes for the continued big eye designs are fairly diminished.
It's too bad; I think that style was used for more mini lines than just about any other, and it's sad to see it gone for now. I love that just like Pops can be displayed together with a unifying style, I can mix Sci Fi Classics, Horror Classics, Supernatural, and the Walking Dead minis on my shelf. The minis for Fallout/Bethesda and IT were pretty similar as well, but Ghostbusters and Universal are getting away from the original look. Still, I'll take my horror minis how I can get them!
Wanted Minis: Stone Zuul/Terror Dog, Grady Twins, Scarred Chucky, GITD Pennywise, Zombie Ed, Guitar Crow, B&W Alfred Hitchcock, Spider Leg Pennywise, Henry Bowers, FYE Eddie, FYE Beverly, HT Bill, HT Ben
