If they are released during SDCC I pray they are not limited number Con Exclusives only. That would be devastating!
That would definitely be heartbreaking for sure.

Brian, the owner of Funko himself said they were coming in November. There was also a leak on Saturday by one of the social media leakers that mentioned two Fry Guys, so there is that. I still think they will happen, but the question is when.
brooklyn_geek wrote:First...Brian doesn't OWN Funko any more. It was acquired by ACON Investments several years ago...he's the CEO still but it's now a public company...just saying...
Leaks that mention Fry Guys are fine if you're into that sort of thing...I'd appreciate seeing said "leak". Considering they initally came into public consciousness via a LEAK on Reddit (from about 3 years ago) where someone just posted a screen that was supposedly from a Barnes and Noble employees PC ummmm yeah more questionable info...never mentioned at the last 2 or 3 Fundays...never a legit GLAM of what they are supposed to look like, not a SINGLE PIECE OF MERCH using these characters aside Ronald in years and again I just mentioned the the actual TM's they own don't contain the images of the characters...not trying to be fact police or squash anyone's dreams but when I see far fetched and not the Pokemon I get weary...

Either way, I don't think Brian would saying they were coming, if they weren't coming. He's not in the business to announce things that aren't happening.
The leak site I follow has been accurate with everything thus far, so I don't why they would stop being reliable. They leaked the War Head, Poptart, Icee Bear, and Tootsie Roll Owl months before amongst others. I think it's safe to say these are happening, but again, the question is when.

I think the glams are probably done already since I remember seeing mock ups in the past. Issue is probably just finalizing the details and making them.

All those other brands still actively use those characters to promote their brands...McDonalds stopped using these guys like 30 years ago & THAT is the main difference and why I'm weary...not saying Brian doesn't know what he's talking about, but it has been YEARS... either way I loved all of em growing up & I hope we see them but obviously I have serious doubts...

Corn Pops DEFINITELY doesn’t use Big Yella anymore and he got a pop. I don’t think a companies disuse of their mascot is any type of disqualification for a pop!

Yeah I would argue the McDonald mascots are still part of a lot of people's childhood.

Sooooooo I've worked in the field of intellectual properties for 20 years...when companies don't use trademarked characters, words etc they LOSE the right to use them after a certain amount of time. Every 7 years you have to not only apply to renew your TM you also have to prove that you're still USING THEM ACTIVELY. I searched and they only retained use of the NAMES not the images of what the characters look like. If I were to guess they may have to reapply for them before they can be licensed out to a company like Funko. Wanting them a lot doesn't make it feasible & again I would love to see em too but the hold up wait a minute going on for a full TWO years makes me weary...![]()

I would be surprised if McDonalds didn't try to keep their characters. Even if they aren't using them now, there's always a chance in the future.

Did you actually see how these are supposed to look? The leaks I saw didn't have any pictures.

If you don't use them you CAN'T keep them and to be fair several of them were knockoffs & they had to pay millions to the Kroft brothers because the court ruled them as infringements and made them pay big at the time. If my speculation is correct they will likely reapply for all of them. Once they register they can license them out again.

Well now I understand why Funko bought licensing rights to Puff&Stuff.
Let's do it Funko.

Ah, I think I know what you are talking about. If it's the same ones, those were old happy meals that they just used as a place holder for their post. It might be something different, but I think it's the same one.
