Pop Myths - Gods and Goddesses

Postby GuruGuy128 » Sat Jun 13, 2020 10:32 am

I think this would be a cool addition to the Myth line a series of Gods and Goddesses from various Pantheons like that game Smite.

If they started doing Gods/Goddesses, this line could go on for a very long time. Big fan of the Gods/Goddess lore.

It's definitely a line that would have some appeal. Funko could really get wild with the design and details.

Here's a good start Zeus, Poseidon, Hades

Use Smite for the inspiration for the figures

Not against it at all, but I’d rather they do a more complete line of mythical creatures (Hydra, Cerberus, Centaur, Manticore etc.) before diverging into a gods/demigods line.
Collecting since: Dec 2018
Main series: Harry Potter, Disney, MCU, LOTR, Movies
Looking to start collecting when I win the lottery: Pulp Fiction, Stan Lee MCU appearances, Haunted Mansion, The Hobbit.

Funko collection: Around 700; mostly Pops!

ISO: HP creatures 3 pack, GITD Balrog, Stonekeeper (MCU),

I agree with you there. Make the beast first working up towards god and demigods. Or making the beast and sprinkle a god here and there.

Loved mythology growing up, but a lot of stuff is also covered by characters in other franchises in a way (Thor, Wonder Woman, Hercules, etc.)

This is a great idea. In addition to all the ideas already mentioned (which I am totally into) I’d also like to see Achilles and Circe (with a pig buddy included of course).

I think we got another 6 inch coming. Popculture over sold their kraken and are telling people that didn’t get one they can cancel or transfer over to the new pop. They haven’t disclosed what it is but we do know it’s another 6 inch. Also it’s coming very soon.

I love this idea so much but to me a gods line would need to be common and not sold on the shop. Who wants an incomplete pantheon? They could do shop exclusive variants though, like marble statue Greek gods or something.

I've had a crappy time getting the creatures that I've wanted, thanks to lack of funds, BUT I would love to see Greek and Roman gods for sure.
I hope they are serious looking too, not too cutesy or goofy...but that's just me.

Sure these gods and goddesses have already made appearances in media such as Hercules and Percy Jackson, but I think they need to be celebrated just like any other Myth figure, in an original figure with maybe some influence from culture.

I started the myths line just for bigfoot and then gave it up, however when they started doing greek mythology I picked back up. I would love if they start getting into the gods and goddesses, would be a great talking point for my kid cousin. my mom bought me a book on mythology as a kid and it's seriously stuck with me to this day
