I wasn't as lucky. My regret was not getting off the fence sooner and having wax at the ready. The packs were so much cheaper in after market to start. I am hope they don't climb too far before I get my wax money transfer to my wax wallet.

Packs are getting expensive because the supply is getting lower. And I would think it will continue to increase as more packs are being opened

I am so happy they started with TMNT. I think it is the perfect series to start with for sure.

Motu or Disney would be great follow ups…even MHA.

MOTU will look sweet there is no question with that...disney, they gonna go specific and milk the hell out of each series/show/movie rather than bulk them together is my thought...I would like to see another show run like tmnt, motu, or ghostbusters next (Slimer grail anyone?)

I'm so excited for NFTs. My wife and I are into cryptocurrency so we understand Blockchain technology. Funko is smart to get in NFTs... The next generation loves them and the market is there.

On a side note, I have lots of duplicates for commons and uncommon. Drop me a DM if you want to trade. :) Let's get that Master Collector Freddy
Name: David / Pop count: 733 / Vynals: 4/ Dorbz: 10 / Soda: 4 / Mystery Minis: 12

Probably, from a business point of view it is a good plan. One obstacle I could see is if a company has already locked down the rights to NFT's for certain brands.

I would love to see Disney, but I can imagine if these take off Disney would just do it themselves. I guess we will see how it goes.

I think Funko should do releases at most once a month. I think flooding market early on might be too much. They need to play this popularity correctly to see it last.

Over on the Discord, the rep from Wax said they won’t be weekly but the plan is for them to happen regularly. I bet once or twice a month at least.

I think a difference is though Funko will be doing different lines, topshot is only NBA, they also limited packs and released way too many cards per drop.

As long as the licenses are popular I think Funko can release these at a decent pace. I'm personally worn out with how TMNT went, but I'd love other people to jump in on the fun. Also whales will continue to make these sell out since they know the secondary market is hot. The current values for the Legendary, Grail, and Mastery set are pretty crazy. I'm obviously not selling my stuff, but the current value is 3 times what I paid.

I'd think once a month would be decent also, at least to start. Like was just mentioned about not getting overly saturated right from the start. I'd say it's only a matter of time until they do something like it for a convention after some thought about how they could.

Yeah its crazy how I paid 20 dollars in total, and according to token head it is valued at $97. It was like 116 earlier today. I do have to admit once my waxp is transferred to my wax wallet I am hoping to get a standard pack or premimum pack. Probably be a few standard packs if I don't go for one premium. I know it is more then original cost, but I really do like those legendary pops.

How do you all think the market will be after the 120 days are up? Are you all going to be keeping your NFTs after that? I’m guessing if you are in to the NFTs it will be much cheaper after that to put the set together.

I agree for sure about the prices post-redemption. I think the main appeal of these for most of us as POP collectors is the physical Pops, and once the tokens go out there won’t be a reason for a lot of people to hold on to these at all. But there will still be an appeal for a lot of people - people still go nuts for Star Wars Card Trader - so values will not plummet.

That’s good to hear because I will most likely unload everything and use the wax for another drop.

Really loved the TMNT drop in terms of all the card art, and the chances at redemption. This may have not got me the same if it wasn't TMNT, but if TMNT isn't for you, your fandom is probably right around the corner. Excited for what Funko can do going forward!

Probably true about more fandoms around the corner, with how fast this first one went there should be no doubt about them pushing a lot more. I'd wait until the redemption turn in is over to collect more of these since the demand for them should taper off.

I was wondering about how to withdraw to a US bank account and did some research. I guess we need to convert WAXP to a stable coin and then sell it so it's in USD and deposit/withdraw it to our bank account? I'm new to this crypto but it seems like WAXP been going up a little each day lol

Here are my thoughts on what we might see...

1. Rick & Morty - Funko has the master license for them and I think they would transition very well to NFts. The fan base is pretty large too so I could see people going for them.

2. MOTU - This is an obvious choice because Brian loves MOTU, but not sure if they'd get the license to make these or not. I want to say Mattel has a pretty good hold on MOTU right now.

3. Ad Icons with an emphasis on cereal characters like you mentioned - It's no secret that Funko loves their cereal so this would be an easy one to do that would most likely sell really well.

4. DBZ or MHA - Anime is also killer for Funko and these two would instantly be hot sellers. I hope MHA doesn't come out for a while though lol

5. Harry Potter, Marvel, DC, Star Wars - Funko's big money makers would totally make sense in the NFT world, but not sure if we'll see them early on.

This is a very solid list. I definitely think Rick & Morty is high up on the priority list with the master license and the wealth of characters and the potential for Justin Roiland to voice some spoof on Rick telling Morty how dumb NFTs are just as an ironic ad lol

Ah, that explains it. I was going to buy a pack of the Weezer "figures" last month on WAX and it would not except my cards. Didn't really care all that much so I didn't bother to go any farther into it.

That's really interesting to me (I worked for a payments processor up here in Canada). I wonder why they block crypto purchases....

I think it has more to do with international purchases. The company that allows credit/debit is based in Lithuania so that's probably a red flag for lots of credit card companies.

Fair enough, that will do it...
Thank you everyone for this awesome community

I think that Rick & Morty would be a huge hit and would have my attention to try get those NFT's and anything DC. Great list CJ. :freddy3:
