Unique POPS Funko has created
Funko has come a long way from the original single pose POPs. I find it fascinating how they continue to evolve their POPS from the early days when we were excited with their metallic, flocked or glow in the dark variants. There are so many varieties, but this latest Frog of Thunder in a jar from the Disney + Loki series I really like and is currently one of my favorites. I really liked this variation because having a POP in a jar is something totally different like a prop out of the show. I have probably forgotten all the different unique POPs that Funko has created over the years so I would love to hear what your favorite unique POP is!

I totally agree with you! Funko keeps pushing the boundaries with the new and exciting sculpts they come out with each year. I think some of the most unique pops that come to my mind and they haven’t done this type of thing in a while are 2 2018 NYCC pops: professor quirrell and okye. The idea of the removable part and making a new figure was so creative and I was in awe of both of them.

Re: Unique POPS Funko has created
ive mentioned this before, how the design/art evolution is just amazing. i particularly mention the original ironman (04) and while it is simple by design (comic version) when compared to a newer ironman pop you can really see the differences. funko continues to push the envelope and task risks while still keeping some of their 'core' features in each pop.
in terms of my favorite unique pop, it would have to be the batman/jim gordon movie moment with them standing by the bat signal.

I couldn’t have even imagined Pops like we get now in my wildest dreams when I first started collecting. It’s been an absolute delight to witness that progression. A very recent example that took me aback is the Supreme Strange Statue I just got in my MCC box. It’s not the most elaborate pop of all time but I spent a long time just admiring the detail in the paint job and molding. I’d love to see more like it in the future.

Great topic, Lewis!
Would love to see people’s answers here.
For me, top of mind for me is Benson from The Regular Show of Cartoon Network.
The Gumball machine design is really ingenious and unique - still one of my all-time favorite Funko Pops ever!

There’s so many unique pops that have been made, but the pop album line and the pop comic covers really stands out for me.

Oooh that is a good one. Although I like Harry Potter I was not able to keep up with all the releases, but I kept the unique sculpts with Professor Quirrel being one of them! Okye I have because I am an avid Marvel collector. The first POPs if I am not wrong that had something unique with the POP itself was the Game of Thrones Ned Stark whose head could be detached. This is a good one! Thanks for reminding me!

Agree with you totally. I remember when they made the Avengers Iron Man and I loved that mold. Still probably on of my favorite IronMan molds. Good one with the movie moments. Before movie moments I remember looking for a bat signal to go with a Batman Pop.

Another good one! Yes the quality of the POPs these days are pretty amazing. I remember we always had threads on bad paint jobs with the compound Hulk I think having the worst paint job.

Yes Renard! I remember that Benson pop and the Gumball machine design. I never watched the show, but in hindsight this is one that would have been nice in the collection for it's uniqueness!

Good one Clyde! I don't remember exactly, but this was around the time we began to see more POPs being accompanied by other items that made the POP more easily identifiable with a movie scene. Awesome pick!

Maybe for ECCC or NYCC? I know nothing about D&D (other than "Stranger Things") and don't collect them but I appreciate how unique the sculpts are compared to other POP! figures. Would also love to see a D&D-accurate Vecna.

True! Unique packaging which Funko has exceled at since the introduction of POPS with a see through box and sized so that it was stackable.

Actually, the MMPR PSH line one of my faves, almost all main characters (masked and unmasked) and villains were created, plus we have Zordon and Dragonzord as well!

One of the admins in Funko Protos 101 group on FB collects D&D protos. My partner got the Asmodeus proto after dancing on stage during Festival of Fun at ECCC last December and ended up selling it to her. She wanted it as a birthday present to herself. These are her photos she posted in the Protos 101 Facebook group.

That's awesome. I ahve it on preorder and you are right, if it was a GITD piece or had sound too, that would be mindblowing.

Still unique in it's way nonetheless! I feel that for some the art they drew on it was a bit overwhelming for the figure while others I thought they worked really well!

I have probably forgotten all the different unique POPs that Funko has created over the years so I would love to hear what your favorite unique POP is!Spoiler: show
Lewis I found this pop very fun to see in person. It's on point with a character that showed up for a short period of time in Loki. If he glows in the dark it would be on point.
That's awesome. I ahve it on preorder and you are right, if it was a GITD piece or had sound too, that would be mindblowing.DrunkoPop wrote:I’m probably in the minority that likes the Art Series.
Still unique in it's way nonetheless! I feel that for some the art they drew on it was a bit overwhelming for the figure while others I thought they worked really well!
My faves are the TMNT set and Robin Hood in which I have in my pop collection
