I had been in the Marines and had boxed everything up and I recently just got my own place and even though they aren't grails, it was so cool to open the boxes and take my pops out, had forgotten about having half of them.

I to have a storage unit full of pops. It gets overwhelming.

Re: Ever found a grail in your own closet?
Honestly it has happened to us a ton but in different way. For example, the very first pop I ever got was the wicked witch of the west and I took her out of the box and tossed the box. My reasoning, I would never sell her cause I love her and I wanted her to hang out. All the years later, my now husband look at her on his shelf and says if you had kept the box she would be worth a pretty penny. I always respond, who cares, I'm not selling her. LOL I never look up how much they are worth. But when he's bored, he will randomly check and then he is surprised by it. I think the other one is an iron man one I have that was a SDCC exclusive, but I don't always remember cause I'm like a greedy little pop hoarding dragon, they're mine and I won't part with them. hahahaha

My favorite Freddy's in my collection are the Daft Punk Set from SDCC 2017 !! Those guys are front an center on my display!
Those ones are the Freddy Flux right? They're so cool together. I believe we're missing one to complete the set. They're amazing!
Yes, they are. I love the different faces on each one. I ended up spending way too much on the last one - just to complete the set! But I am happy I did it!
I dont know what you spent, but I'm sure it was worth it. One of the best freddy sets ever. If not the best!

Re: Ever found a grail in your own closet?
My partner and I often buy 2 of everything, if it's a con Exclusive or something we think may sell out fast. Dont mean literally everything. Just whats within the lines ee collect. We have 2 separate collections so this way if one person misses out online, they are still covered . I was going through the star wars pile yesterday and noticed we had 4 General Thrawns. Went to confirm that he had one in his collection, so ended up totalling 5 Thrawns. Looked it up & now it's like $300 each. I was shocked I don't know how we even got so many!!

My journey with Funko started with the give-a-way Conan's at SDCC years back. I am a big fan of all the different variants!
What is the story behind your signature, if it is ok to ask?
Yes it is
I am a huge fan of Conan and have the whole serie, and 5 extra with his signature.
Besides the pops, I managed to get 20 prototypes and always looking for more.
I'm not at home, but I will try to post some pics later on.
And you, got Conan Funko's too?

Re: Ever found a grail in your own closet?
I actually just remembered that I found a grail last year . I moved in early 2021 and had started packing up everything in December and putting it in a storage unit. I put a bunch of sorters with pops from the Funko shop into a box and didn't even look to see what I had bought. Fast forward to April or May when I'm getting my display set up and I open 1 of the sorters. Lo and behold, turned out to be a BL Carnage (this was when the pop was selling for its highest price, maybe over $200). Immediately purchased an armor and its currently sitting underneath my BL Hulk that I found in the same box.

My first pop was a Conan, and during that SDCC I picked up two others, so I left San Diego with 3 out of the 4 from that year. I discovered on ebay all of the other variants from previous years, so I started picking them up one at a time until I had all of the previous Conans. I went to SDCC every year since (except during Covid of course) and we sought the conan's out wherever they were giving them away. Each year it was different, and we usually got 2 or 3 of the 4 or 5 they gave out. The rest I picked up on ebay.
We did get one signed by Conan after we saw his show at Spreckles Theater.
If I may ask, how do you find the prototypes? I have heard about them being given away at Fundays, and you see them on ebay as well, but I never know if those are real.

Cool, I like the full line a lot, unfortunately no new ones the past year and it doesnt look like this year there will be new ones either.
Protos are given away yes, they aren't for sale. And there are sometimes protos on ebay but most of them are scrappers (fakes).
Without a lineage and proof that goes back to Funko or the Artist, stay away from them. You can look at the funkoprotos101 facebook group. There you can find information about protos and sometimes there are some for sale. Even when you want to buy one, you can ask very known collectors to help you.

Thanks for the information about protos. I imagine being closer to a Funko store would allow for more opportunities for the proto giveaways. Hopefully someday they will open an East Coast location.
I would like to visit the Everett Washington store someday, to see where it all began.

I had a Funko Booth slot that year, and Cheerleader Deadpool was top of my wish list - of course it was sold out when it was my turn in line - so hard to get the LE items anywhere but Ebay!

I bought a Dug with Cone of Shame back in 2016. Didn't know here it went and forgot about it, until I found it in storage in the attic last month.
