Re: Autograph or not to autograph? That is the question!
Autographs on photos YES, on toys or other items I'm iffy on...I waited ONCE in my life for an autograph and honestly it wasn't my cup of tea meeting someone I was that big a fan of that way...If it's a spontaneous thing I might ask for one, but if it's formal for money or whatever nah, not my thing...but on topic I asked Mike Becker to sign a Pop for me recently and he did and I only did so because in all these years I've come across him a ton of times and never asked...so Becker signing a Freddy does mean something to me...so I guess in certain scenarios just hate the formal way

I've only got a few signed Pops, 2 from Stan Lee, and the TMNT Amazon glow 4-pack & Turtle Van from Kevin Eastman!

Re: Autograph or not to autograph? That is the question!
Autograph for sure! But I'm usually pretty picky. I try and go for autographs for pops of characters that are nostalgic and I have to get them in person. I'm glad I got to meet Stan Lee and JDF (twice!) before they passed. The only one I regret not getting was Adam West. I'll never get a Batman pop autographed out of respect for him. I have quite a few and those will be staying with me forever!

i was never much of an autograph or celebrity guy, but recently i made a friend who won me over with his collection. i don't have many but i do agree that pops are damn near perfect for autographing and i have to wonder what impact they have had on the convention scene as i have to think somebody gets a bump in signings when they get a pop released.

I have a Stan Lee signed Spiderman pop, I was thinking about getting more autographs but I’m happy with just that one

I'm still kind of like that, it would be a certain celebrity and I would want a photo done a bit more than a pop in most situations. I do have a couple signed pops though, usually from bundle sales or subscription boxes previously.
I can see certain celebrities being more busy at a convention than others of course, due to popularity.

I love getting my pops autographed, especially when I get them myself. A lot of times getting an autograph leads to a great conversation with the artist, especially the older ones who think that fans have forgotten about them. They seem to really appreciate you, and the time you took to remind them that they still mattered.

It’s your property so do what you want. But for me never signed pop. Without signature certificate it’s worth a lot less, and less collectible

I always question getting a pop signed, but then after I do, I always love it and so glad I didn't second guess it. I have 4 signed at the moment. Jackie Earle Haley signed Rorschach. Steve Downes signed Master Chief. Jason David Frank signed metallic Green Ranger. Mike Becker signed Hall H Freddy Funko.

Re: Autograph or not to autograph? That is the question!
If I am keeping them and it is a collection I like (Dr. Who or Anime) I have been getting them signed. Really I think it is if you want to meet the cool VA/Actors and want something cool signed then a Pop is a good median. Specially if they do quotes or the more artistic some drawing on the side window.
If you just doing it for value or trade, I think it limits the crowd since some just want the Pop and not a more expensive version.

autographs are such a personal preference. We have a couple done of Marvel characters that we met at Cons. I am all for the experience of it and then its for sure a keepsake. I dont do any of those mail in ones because it wouldnt mean anything to me. Its all about the meeting and excitement of waiting for those memories.

Do you have any autograph collections going?
Gotta appreciate a timely thread! This just came up this weekend, as I was getting a Simu Liu autograph at LACC. When I first started collecting, I thought I'd never 'sully' my pops with autographs!
But then I got my first signature, an LACC Kevin Smith, pre-signed at the HT booth. It was so exciting! And then this year, I've had some autograph opportunities, and nothing good to get signed. So I went looking at pops, and wouldn't you know it - there were perfect pops for what I wanted.
I wouldn't get every pop signed. But the ones I have? I love them, and they're a lot of fun! This year alone, I've gotten Chuck Norris, William Shatner...and now Simu Liu.
The truly hard question I face each time is this though - what color should I get them signed with??

You're speaking my language. I LOVE autographed pops! I try to get as many myself as possible since at that point, the autograph ties more to the memory than the actual pop. And ones that I do consignments, I try to meet the person if I ever have the chance. My autographs are my main collection now (which is good because I am up to 195 right now).

It was at a local con, and it's pretty much their one job when there
The person in front of me sucked though. No lie, they had a good 20 items for him to sign. Funkos, action figures, statues, comics, posters, art.... It was insane...and annoying. Had a feeling they were resellers, because no way someone needed that many autographs for themself.

When it is an icon like Stan Lee I definitely go for the autograph, but in other cases I like the pop without an auto.

I've gotten a number of Pops signed. I was initially hesitant, but really like the look. But it depends on the person/property — sometimes I still go with a Blu-ray, poster or book.

I have mostly anime pops signed by the voice actors. I don’t mind my pop being signed or not but I do like when I get the signature myself and meet the actor.

Do you like autographs or without?
Do you have any autograph collections going?
I have mostly anime pops signed by the voice actors. I don’t mind my pop being signed or not but I do like when I get the signature myself and meet the actor.
Yeah that is what I do. I won't buy a already autographed pop, That I need to do myself make the pop that much more special and you have a story to go with it.
Just call me Joe...
