I'd love to see more posters from Mondo. Luckily I have a few places to get posters that are along similar lines. I don't really have room for the ones I already have, so maybe it's for the best that Mondo doesn't release them too often. lol

They need to patch things up with the old artist. After the layoff, some of the most recent posters dropped are okay; nothing too wild. C2E2 again has more licensed comic book cover posters. Also, notice that the paper they use for the comic posters are not great. The Batman poster was the only cool one.

i have only seen them at cons for the most part. i know the old team moved on somewhere else and have seen them release a few there. but i do not have any more room for posters either but i would still buy a few if they made them. i really liked the old ones when they collaborated with movies and theaters to release them at shows. those were amazing and special to me.

Unfortunately the old artist stable is never coming back to work with Mondo again. They will work with Mutant though, where the old Mondo team works now.

After seeing the new Bloodsport one, it gives me hope that they'll start to cater to new artist willing to make some great posters.

There should bring back some earlier artists like Martin Ansin and Olly Moss. I would love to see these great artist revisit this medium.

These artist will never work with Funko.
But you will see releases from them with the former Mondo workers who are now running Mutant.

Ever since I took an L on the mondo sdcc avengers poster I kinda stopped collecting posters
It hurt so much because it was so cool but I should stop being salty and start collecting again.
Thread of most of my collection I’m selling. Time to say bye bye to SDCC Gus GiTD, SDCC Freddy’s ride, SDCC Whis and 73 other pops.

Take care and have an awesome day.

I don't have enough room in my house for all of my posters now, but that won't stop me from buying if they drop some more SDCC posters lol

I got a portfolio and it was the best decision ever. I don't have a lot of wall space, but now I can finally unroll and see all the artwork I've gathered over the years.

That's a great idea! Never thought about displaying them that way, definitely would help my wall space lol

I wouldn't be worried. They will have the leftovers online for sale. They usually keep a small amount allocated for online sales, based on my experience with past Texas Frightmare and Monsterpalooza convention.

I highly recommend getting a portfolio to store posters in. It's a great way to save space and it makes you feel like you have your own little art collection!

Have any of you used the portfolio from BNG, I’ve been tempted to get it.

Yes - that's what I bought. The Deluxe Print Storage Portfolio. It has held up very nicely.

I got one for my large posters -- nice construction, good quality.

Depends on the size you need. I have a variety of Itoya Profolios, which I like for the freebie posters you get at events, etc. Baroque from Bottleneck Gallery are the only very large portfolios I've found.

For anyone going to the mondo SDCC booth for the first time, make sure to bring a tube or make a bee line past artist alley to the outside area with the print over your head like a large hat. Once you get off the floor it will be a lot easier to have people not stomp all over your new print!

Great reminder - poster tubes are lifesavers! You can usually buy them somewhere outside of the main floor if you want to get it while you're there or if you forget.

Running out of room on the wall and flat file myself.. makes it easier to not buy prints when you don't let yourself have the room for them! Framing is just sooo expensive too, framing stores get more than the artists sometimes. :angry4:

Yeah I am in the same boat. Had to stop buying/framing them since it got so expensive. Ikea had some decent frames but ran out of wall space so fast. They are all now being stored as flat files until I get a bigger place some day

Even before Mondo was acquired, a lot of those artists kinda just went on their own which was quite unfortunate.

Personally I’d love to see Tyler Stout make a return but seems content in his own lane these days.

Personally I’d love to see Tyler Stout make a return but seems content in his own lane these days.

Stout's Mondo work was epic in that 2010-2015 era. Everything that he did was a must-have. Recently, he did a flat file sale of his own stuff and there were some gems in there, but they were priced to their value. Way out of reach for me.

My own personal wish would have been for Ansin to do an Across The Spider-Verse to match his Into The Spider-Verse. That was a great print.

It does seem like more and more artists are content to have their prints screened and just sell them on their own websites these days. With the emergence of social media it's probably less critical to have a major distributor behind you these days.

Getting actors to give their likeness is a bit of a difficulty as well. Which is always unfortunate because a lot of the time the print feels like something is “missing” then.

Stout does have a new print lined up for SDCC from CODA (new gallery from former Mondo people).

Yes! Tyler's earlier Marvel work (i.e. Captain America: First Avenger, The Avengers etc) at Mondo was amazing! Wish he would return some of that stuff as well :(

Very excited for this year's Mondo lineup at SDCC. I think the poster work (particularly those Robocops, looks outstanding).
