This is something I’ve wanted them to do for a while. It maintains desirability and it rewards the collectors that decided to pick it up in the moment instead of it being infinitely available. I think the biggest thing with collectibles in general is making sure they’re collectible. Don’t want to just pump out infinite amounts cause then they become toys.
Totally agree - there are plenty of common Pops that will always be available for casual collectors, but there need to be limited Pops out there that keep the diehard collectors going
100% champ - you’ve got the right idea. For those always complaining about how they want unlimited availability. Funko has a huge selection of always available products for you to consume. Stroll on over to entertainment earth and take your pick - however us diehard collectors that’s been collecting for 10 years strong and have over 1000+ pops (speaking for myself) don’t have the capacity nor willpower to want widely available pieces in their collection. I prefer chases, LEs, few store exclusives and con exclusives. I know Funko has a wide range of collectors to cater to so I’m not mad at huge waves of commons
