Reen Barrera Was Born In Paris, France 'n Raised In The Philippines.
As A Child, The Artist Would Repair Wood Carvings In Church 'n Began Collecting Wood Scraps To Make Toys.
Barrera Would Subsequently Begin To Collect Various Found Materials, Such As Cardboard And Paper,
To create His Own Toys And Figurines.
This Experience Would Later Prove Crucial To His Later Artistic Career.



His Works Often reference childhood memories, vernacular phrases, and streetscapes and are characterized by their charming, 'outsider art' aesthetic. In recent years, the artist has presented his works at solo and group exhibitions in museums and galleries throughout Europe, the United States, and Asia.

That was the main reason I decided to share it

This is an incredible post. I wish there were more collaborations of this quality. These figures are exquisite and connect to the heart and soul of these fans. Very well done Funko. Bravo. I didn't k ow Reen Barrera's work before but now I will not forget it and will seek out opportunities to see it in real life.

I like the fact that they worked with an artist on an official release and not just a custom. Really wished they would start working with more artists, I'm sure they could come up with some pretty awesome releases.
