I feel like the new pricing still did well at WonderCon, I am excited to see it in action at SDCC. It influences me to make better choices when choosing what to add to my collection. Adding $15 when you are in line doesn't really stop you. $40 on the other hand, gets you to think twice.

I think this is a great point. Most ppl buying their pop will grab the le ones if they are there since le what the hell. But now ppl will actually think twice on whether they really need the extra pop and a lot of ppl will say no. So I guess le pops will last longer at the booth and be available for ppl who really want it

Agreed. Was thinking about getting the Tin Toy Pop at Wondercon and the price definitely made me think twice and maybe that’s a good thing because I don’t really collect Pixar.

I think this is a great point. Most ppl buying their pop will grab the le ones if they are there since le what the hell. But now ppl will actually think twice on whether they really need the extra pop and a lot of ppl will say no. This is a really good point. It is tempting to always grab the LE’s if you have an opportunity, but now with the pricing, it may make more sense to focus on what you collect. I know I am running out of space!

the higher price points are only going to attract hard core collectors and isn't going to be accessible to the general masses, but i guess that's the point with the lower piece counts since they would be more expensive to make. anyone know when this is going to live?

Yikes the truth is being revealed with these...
So these are locked behind fan rewards, you must spend points to have the OPPORTUNITY to buy the POP.
Then you will have to buy the POP for the large markup...
Seems excessive? I am not a fan of the double barrier and especially the prices

Yeah here’s the exact wording from the FAQ:

If I’m not able to purchase a Limited Edition item after I’ve redeemed my Fan Rewards points for early purchase access, can I get my points back?

Once Fan Rewards points have been redeemed, they cannot be returned. You can earn more points by completing tasks in our Fan Rewards hub.

So far nothing that’s been announced for this lines up with fandoms I collect, but I’m open to this and interested in seeing how it all goes next month (particularly the early Fan Rewards access part of this). It does look like a lot of the exclusives are variations (metallic, blacklight, glitter) of already existing Pops, so I don’t know how desirable they’ll end up being.

I simply dislike that they keep using the same mold but offer a metallic or diamond edition. This does not create an exclusive pop for this new tier system

I wanna say, they'd only allow as many people access via rewards as are available to purchase but that's a big IF. Hope it's the case though.

That Mumm-Ra looks very nice as a Blacklight. I wouldn’t use my rewards for early access though. I’m saving them for sweepstakes

I love the LE counts coming back and don't mind the point system cause it allows long time fans/buyers a better chance.
But not a fan of if you miss out you loose the points that you applied.

Feel like if they drop a 500 count than maybe they do a quantity of 480 point redemptions for that item. While allowing only those 480 to guarantee a chance to purchase. Obviously its no bueno that people without any points won't even have a chance but at lease people aren't just burning points and taking a double punch.

I think if people are trying to finish a certain line, they’ll aim for that higher priced one. Tbh, this is kind of something funatics been asking for for years to finally have limited products even if it comes at a higher price and they still are launching regular waves for people to get the opportunity to collect the line so they are catering to both sides of the fence.

Yeah, can't say I'm a fan of that. It's one thing to spend the points and just not make the purchase in the early access window, it's another to get a purchase error cause the piece sold out in your cart.

IMO all Strawberry Shortcake items should be scented. I'm kind of surprise one with a limited piece count isn't
