Last drop

Postby Rxiempire » Wed Dec 17, 2025 9:33 am

It's a little sad that the nft drops are about to stop for the time being with out any ideas of them trying to bring it back in the future. I liked that every drop had a Freddy funko as pop that went with the line was looking forward to seeing franny funko as pops and what Characters they came up with. Would like to know what everyone else thinks about nft pops going away?

I am buying some on the secondary market but never tried the primary as I am old and had trouble navigating it.

I’ve been thinking about this a bit, and I think the NFT PR was a big issue, along with execution issues like needing to use crypto to get involved if you didn’t buy packs. I also think that the server costs must’ve become prohibitively expensive for something that wasn’t converting like they hoped. It’s interesting because I thought the model of NFT for redemption was one of the best case uses I had seen in the NFT world. But I’m sure there’s plenty I don’t know with this situation.

Instead of stopping completely, I would’ve liked to see a quarterly drop instead.
Funko interests:
-Ewok Pops!
-Mortal Kombat Pops!
-TMNT sodas
-Funko tees

This could make sense if a whole separate staff isn’t required for this. I assume the pop making process is the same.

There are like 3-4 series still having to be shipped that said Q3 and Q4 of this year.. so something is happening with their company since nothing is on time. Not sure if this has to do with anything

I would've preferred if they did a drop every 2 months instead of getting so many so close to each other. Wish they had an option to use your credit card to buy directly on the marketplace instead of navigating buying crypto and sending to my wallet, took me a bit to figure that out

I think the reason NFTs are taking a break is because after a few years of being available, Funko is still having trouble getting people to understand how to purchase digital currency. Funko changed their platform to purchase crypto a few times, and because it was crypto, some of the platforms required people to give up personal info they weren't comfortable giving. I had many people tell me they like the pops but don't understand how to get them. After two years, that's not supposed to happen. Hopefully they're figuring out a new and easy way for people to get NFT pops. I want them to come back.

Exactly. There has to be an easier method, and I don't necessarily think it's on Funko to figure that out--I think the entire NFT space had a hard time catching on because there was a significant learning curve involved.

Funko should've just made a quirky social media video simplifying the process of how to obtain them. But ultimately people eventually figured it out, but hated to gambling aspect of it. No one wants to pay money and win nothing.

Yeah spending money and not getting anything was a bummer but when you did hit something it felt good but maybe I have a gambling problem I don't know about hahaha

So, are the NFT Pops done for good, or is there a chance they might come back at some point?

I really enjoyed Funko NFTs!! It was a bit of a learning curve at first, being an introduction to not only NFTs but crypto as well. Opening accounts in unfamiliar forums, being asked my SSN, to upload an ID, and take a selfie for verification. It almost scared me off, but I thought "F'k it, I'm going to do it anyway!".

I participated from the first droppp, buying just a pack or two at first. But quickly learning that it wasn't enough to REALLY have a chance at a redeemable. But Mama didn't raise no quitter!! A poor fool, maybe but not a quitter. :blackeye:

In the END(?) I had 82 redeemables.
GRAILS 13
LEGENDARY 49
ROYALTY 17
ULTRA 3

I'm not sure how I feel about NFTs now, err data centers and what not. I don't want the fun I have to be at a cost to the world. Wish they would tell us the reason for stopping, I could really use the closure.

It's sad seeing these go. I miss the thrill of pulling grails or the hunt at least... success was rare lol.

I just got the shipped message, happy and sad to see it go at the same time. It was an interesting adventure while it lasted.

I liked seeing Pops that maybe never would have seen the light of day get made as NFT redeemables, they made some really interesting figures.
