Did Funko inspire you to watch a tv show?

Postby bbauwe01 » Sat Mar 14, 2026 7:47 pm

For me I’d never heard of fire force. Then I remember people were amped up for the shinra box lunch release. So I decided to watch the show to see what all the hype was about for the pop and it turned into one of my favorite anime shows.

Does anyone have a similar story?

Wave 1 of My Hero Academia inspired me to give it a go. Also Doctor Who.

For me it’s more dc shows that I didn’t think I’d like such as arrow and the flash (have been disappointed by prior superhero shows).

I think that I started watching Clone Wars because of pops, but people had been telling me about it for years. As a fan that hated the prequels, I resisted for so long...

Oh, I'm a complete convert now. Best Star Wars content I've ever experienced. The only thing that kills me, though, is that I traded my Anakin Freddy AT FUNDAYS prior to watching the series. :-({|=

The first couple seasons were a hard watch, but than man oh man that was the best star wars content ever created.

I did not love the ending to the show but it was a superb show. I need to try and pick up that line of pops at some point.

Same as ComicsZombie. Though the Funko products have made me appreciate certain tv shows/movies more since I never watched them.

Yeah--in seasons 1 and 2, there are a couple of episodes in each that are pretty good. Then, it flips--just one or two clunkers in each season thereafter (mostly droid stuff).

Loved those cereals before they changed the formula. Boo berry was my favorite.

Actually, game of thrones. I went to SDCC the year that House of the Dragon was at Hall H. After that panel, a friend of mines had a lottery slot for the funko booth and obtained the House of the Dragon exclusive, and I looked at it and realized I needed to watch Game of Thrones before House of the Dragon premiered. It still took a month for me to start it, but once I didI had an amazing binge after that. Too bad the GOT pops plummeted in value.

Not a show but into the spider verse I wasn’t really into it. I wasn’t super excited to see it but after the pops I got more interested in the movie.
