New flagship store location

Postby geekygent78 » Sun Mar 29, 2026 2:38 pm

I'm sure everyone saw this post about the upcoming event at the stores located in Seattle and Hollywood. I like that Funko is doing events that keep people coming in to the store but they need to have another store or two around the country to give other fans an opportunity to experience some of these events.

So here's my question, if Funko asked you what are two places you would consider putting a new store at besides the two existing stores. For me, I think Austin is a great choice because the city's motto is "Keep Austin weird". Isn't that part of Funko's brand and marketing? My second location would be, here me out, Charlotte, NC. It sits in the middle of Florida, Tennessee, Atlanta, Philadelphia, NY, Pittsburgh, and other large cities. This gives people in these areas an opportunity to consider making the drive to the store to participate in the stores events.

Chicago would be great for the Midwest! Something on/near Michigan Ave would be a prime location.

Realistically if they were to open another store, probably NYC. I would be happy with Chicago though.

I've been hoping they'd continue to expand and open in NYC as well! I honestly thought they'd open one right after the Hollywood flagship store's grand opening, but I guess FAO Schwarz would be their 'mini' flagship store in the meantime. Fingers are still crossed!

I was kind of surprised they didnt get the AZ location the flagship store treatment! I think NY and maybe somewhere in FL would also be good for the east-coasters!

Raleigh, NC and Orlando, FL
Raleigh because it's a great location for covering the East Coast and Orlando because of the tourist destination money. A third option would be somewhere like Oklahoma City, OK. Because of its location off the 40.

I would think somewhere on the east coast would make sense, but Chicago would be cool. Not sure if it’d make sense with cold weather in the winter though, so maybe Charlotte or Nashville? Also, surprised no one has suggested somewhere international.

A new store, in this economy?!?

Probably NYC would make the most sense, if money is no object.

NYC for sure. I can picture a location in Times Square and there are already other collectible shops there too!

We are super spoiled in the West coast so I will have to suggest a new store in the East Coast. I pick New York or Florida

NYC is an obvious selection but why not put it somewhere else to give more people a chance to go to your store.

Here are my suggestions and hopes for new Flagship stores:

First off NYC would be out just dues to costs associated with rent anywhere in the metro area as funko is trying to limit overhead of possible and NYC is very expensive.

Ok these other areas would be high traffic hubs for new stores IMO:

1. Anywhere between Disney world and Universal Orlando
2. Dallas or Houston or San Antonio
3. Philadelphia or Boston for Northeast (NYC to expensive)
4. Chicago for Midwest

When Funko was peaking I thought they would have a flagship in the east coast like in New York Times Square especially when NYCC comes around or in Orlando near Universal Studios and Walt Disney world. Now with Mega Con getting popular.

I think Austin would be a great option. It isn't to far from either of the cities you mentioned and the cities motto is, "Keep Austin weird." I mean come on, that's right up Funko's alley.

That would also be a good option and wouldn’t cost them as much in overhead for a store compared to the other cities potentially
