Rumor of Freddy leaving Funko

Please say it isn't so! I really hope this doesn't happen but it's looking like it is. What will Fundays or Funko be without Freddy? I'm bummed out, I really love collecting Freddy Funko just like a lot of Funko collectors. How does everyone feel about this news?

I would be shocked but also, that post usually has some cred behind it. I adore Freddy and love that we added Franny into the mix. I mean, I guess if they chagne it, these all go up in volume. I don't hate the purposed guy but also think he seems more seasonable, meaning like a fall mascot. LOL I guess we will all just have to wait and see.

I don't trust it. It doesn't really make sense from a branding perspective, since it's their own IP so they wouldn't have to worry about losing the rights or anything. Perhaps they'll slow down on making Freddy pops, but probably won't retire him outright.

I think how a person feels about Freddy separates the Funko collectors from the Funatics.

When I first started collecting, I didn't particularly care about Freddy. I certainly didn't need any Freddy figures! But that gradually changed, and collecting Freddy (and Franny and Proto) is just a regular part of my collecting. I can't imagine a year going by without a new Freddy in my collection!

I don't think they should replace Freddy he is someone everyone knows and loves but adding another mascot is a good thing now you can have 4 teams and all different.this would workout great for an event like fundays you can have Freddy,franny ,proto and skully and wouldn't need to boxes with Freddy as to different types of themes

It would be really sad if they decided to rebrand Funko. I love Freddy. I know a lot of people that only collect Freddy's. I don't understand the purpose of it or why they would want to do it. Someone said that they were trying to get away from Freddy and they weren't necessarily going to have a new mascot, but they were going to have several mascots similar to spastic plastic. I really hope this isn't true. I think they're making a mistake if they choose to rebrand and lose Freddy.

I would say that he was Mike's, and some of his spirit is still with Mike. But I think a little bit of Freddy now belongs to and with all of us.
