I recently acquired Rainbow Dash and Derpy and have been OBSESSED with taking their pictures.

They really aren't anything special, but I love mah ponies so I wanted to share.

Sorry it's nothing more spectacular... Maybe I'll get the other two and revive this with better shots eventually. But I hope you enjoy and share in my MLP love.

From what I understand.. Its a clumsy pony with eyes... Fans started calling her "derpy" And that became the "unofficial" name (nobody actually ever puts the name of the character on products).

That's what I've gathered. We sell lots of pony stuff at my store, no one on staff knows a thing about it but we are constantly getting schooled on MLP (how the cool kids abbreviate it) by small girls and college-age bronies.

Hi guys, I'm a new guy, like literally they confirmed my account here just this morning. But I found your post's about the My Little Pony Collectibles. I've been a...slightly obsessed Brony for over a year and I can answer your questions. The light Grey pony with the bubbles on her butt and the walleyed expression is Derpy Hooves/Ditzy Doo. The character was actually created by Bronies and adopted by Hasbro. In the very first episode of MLP there was a pony in the background with a walleyed expression, the creator of the show "Lauren Faust" said it was just an animation error. Seem no one cared and kept making names and giving her personality. According to the fandom she has two children (Foals), a friend named Carrot Top who was also a background Charater named by fans, she's in love with another background pony named Doctor Whooves who was named after "Doctor Who" due to his hair style and hour glass cutie mark, and last of all the most important thing to know, Derpy absolutely loves muffins. Not long after they were adding her into the background of some episodes as a little "Hello" to the male fans watching. Then during another episode they actually brought Derpy out of the background, gave her a voice, said her name was Derpy, and had her accidental breaking stuff all over the place while trying to set up things with Rainbow Dash. Though, some bronies saw this and loved it, other Bronies had a bit of a fight, the voice actor used for her didn't know Derpy was a girl, so she ended up with a male like voice and seemed she was being to clumsy. Literally on the same day the episode aired they changed it because of the negative attention she was getting, They kept her voice but no longer named her Derpy. Thus that came to a quick end. Oh well, I'm guessing this maybe answered a few questions for you guys, not likely questions that where keeping you up at nights but questions non the less, if you guys have any other questions just ask. Oh and by the way, Funko colored her eyes wrong, I see orange eyes on the Vinyl collectible when her eyes are supposed to be yellow/gold, other than that it's all very nice, I hope to get Rainbow Dash really soon.

They kept her voice but no longer named her Derpy.

Correction, they re-recorded the entire discussion/scene between Derpy and Rainbow Dash. In rerecorded version they gave Derpy a girly voice (what I'd call a "dumb blond" voice) and Rainbow Dash no longer mentioned her name.
