Will these ever be available in stores other than Hot Topic?

My local comic shop/pop culture store doesn't carry them. I'd rather be giving my money to the comic shop vs Hot Topic. Is this because of an exclusive distributing deal that Hot Topic has or are comic shops just being slow to carry the ponies?

Would love to hear a definitive answer on this. Alls I've ever seen is conjecture.

I believe the ponies are only Hot Topic exclusives, sorry.

I did hear that they would be timed exclusives but that could have changed, seeing how they can't be ordered anywhere else.

I just looked and Barnes has them for "pre-order" because I don't see anywhere to pre order.
But that means they'll be getting them and the past 2 ponies. Just later than hot topic.

That's good, I thought they were exclusives like Gir.

Hmmm this makes me think that Hot Topic may have have a limited time exclusivity deal with Funko, but perhaps when that's expired other retailer's can get them? Would be nice to know for sure.

They will be available to all retailers at a later date. Hot Topic gets top priority and gets their share of time to sell the items before other stores are allowed to carry.

Where are the Rainbows & Derpys coming from, on Ebay? Did Hot Topic forget to lock their warehouse one day, or were attendees at Toy Fair able to snag some?

Yep, those have been available at Hot Topic since last fall and people are just buying and reselling those.

Based on the latest Fluttershy Doctor Whooves releases it looks like Hot Topic has about a 3 month exclusivity window on these, then other retailers can get them. I see Toywiz is advertising "presales" of Fluttershy and Doctor Whooves for release in June. March-June = 3 months inference.

Someone at Hot Topic was wise to negotiate that to capture all the sales from the pony fans who want it NOW!!!
