Aw crap! I really shouldn't, but I may not be able to avoid the temptation to order these, since Octavia is my favorite secondary character and I really like the color scheme on DJ Pon-3. Also international shipping is same ($39.50), whether I get one or both, so if I cave in, it will be both of them.

Ugh I placed my pre order yesterday but just got an email that they sold out of DJ Pon and that I won't be getting my DJ Pon. Boo. I will just get them in store but am disappointed that I will have to search him out.

Dan, has something ever happened that would make you disbelieve them? Craig (alleycat) got crystal for both, the Pinkie Pie and the Lyra Heartstrings in his last order. That was way cool!!!

I have not personally, but the person who helped me get my crystal Lyra received a crystal from HT. They already had the variant so they helped me fill in my collection.

I'm sure for those who can't find one there will be fellow Funatics keeping an eye out.

Well, Hot Topic has a fluttershy crystal variant listed on Amazon. It says 'variant' in the title and the photo is the crystal version. It is up for $16.50. I saw it a few months ago when I was much more of a noob(I probably still am), so I purchased it. I was sent the regular version, which I already had. I tried contacting them about it and they were very difficult to deal with. They pointed out that in the description it says that 1 in 24 will get the crystal version. I do understand it was something I should not have missed but the photo and title of the listing are the variant. After a back and forth with Hot Topic, I had to contact Amazon to get a refund because I feel it was listed incorrectly. Amazon agreed immediately and sent me a full refund, including shipping. If you look through the reviews, there were multiple others duped by this listing. This kind of sales tactic makes me wary of a company.

That's how they had it listed on their site too (since it's original release in February). It seems they have now removed the word "variant" from the item name on their site as well as from their Amazon-listing.

I'm a little worried though. This'll be the second wave so far of just background characters, while there are still three main characters that have yet to be made (cough Applejack coughcough).
