Re: Monkey Assassin REDUX Mystery Solved?--Not So Much
That's such a pretty photo Stephe! Who did the custom pop for you?
I just need the Shadow Assassin and the Redux Monochrome (not sure if I really need this one) and I'll be done with my production set. There's a bunch of amazing customs I would like to have but I doubt I'll ever have the chance to own them.

Me, I'm the hack. I did it for myself. I finished it right before the Planet of the Apes pieces came out so every now and again I think of making another head...and then the feeling passes and I move on to something else.

As soon as the Pulp Fiction Crazy 88 is released I'm expecting a Crazy 88 Monkey Assassin pop custom.

I'm with Carol Lynn and going to be good with the originals that I have. The Redux are a re-release, so aren't different than the originals--other than the fact that they didn't match the paint exactly (which, for now, I can overlook
). I was just glad to finally get to the bottom of the Redux mystery (thanks to Stephe and others who remembered the release).

Thanks for the heads up. I ordered one. The Crazy 88s look cool too, but they're sold out already.

Re: Monkey Assassin REDUX Mystery Solved?--Not So Much
So, I can't help but wonder, which Crazy 88 Monkeys did P+P use to make their customs? The 2 they have left for sale on their site are the Crazy 88 Blood Monkey (red face) which was a 1/192 and The Ghost of Crazy 88 Monkey (blue) which was a 1/496. So, which did they repaint?

Either way, 30 Crazy 88 Monkeys have been re-purposed.

And I'm with everyone else that picked up the non-Funko Monkey Assassin--just too cool to pass up.

They used the blue ones. There was a picture on Twitter a while ago.

I would have guessed the blue ones because there were way more of them and the light blue would be much easier to paint over.

Re: Monkey Assassin REDUX Mystery Solved?--Not So Much
Finally heard back from Vinnie regarding the new Crazy 88 repaints. As we already suspected...
"Scott, we used the blue crazy 88 to do repaints. I have a few things planned coming up with the monkeys."
Can't wait to see what other monkey plans he has.
